T.E.A.M. Racing is hosting a weekend track day event at Reno-Fernley's new four-mile course on Saturday and Sunday, August 26-27. As always, I NEED MORE MINIS TO PLAY WITH! Bonni runs some of the best organized and safest events I've been to and her instructors (including me) are all top notch experienced drivers, many with race experience. It's the most fun you can have in your MINI with your pants on.

The cost for one day is $190, cost for both days is $350. Included in the price are Gatorade and bottled water, snacks, a nice catered lunch, and at least two hours of track time. Free ride-along instruction is available to all classes and required for Novices. The casino hotels in Reno offer very affordable rates and you can try your hand at Texas Hold-'em in the evenings, or just watch if you prefer. Track day registration forms are here.

On Friday, September 1st, T.E.A.M.Racing is hosting another track day at Thunderhill Raceway Park, my favorite Northern California track. Expect all the same perks as above all for $225.

PACKAGE DEAL:

Get all three days for $500!! That's just $175 per event. If you want the package, send Bonni both registration forms and you'll get the discount.

See you at the track!

Cheers,
Sid

Hey Sid

Your tempting me...going to be hotter than, well, TH in June.

Think my wife will kill if I do the Historics and this back to back...

I'll talk to Cheryl and Alison...
It's strange, but since I've been married, I seem to have lost the ability to make unaided decisions!

Sounds tempting!
I've been entertaining the idea of taking my car to the track...sounds like a perfect opportunity...now I just have to see if I can take off work!

Hopefully some other MINIs in the area will join in.

Thanks for letting us know about it

I'll be there. I was there last October and Bonni from TEAM was instructing. This time they will have the new section open so it should be really fun for Minis.

OMG that track has changed so much. I ran it when it first opened and there were boulders in the run off area...

That layout looks insane! and its looks well sorted for MINI's

Anyone know if Reno-Fernley will allow Cabrio's with stock hoops only? I would love to do this or take some instruction there but don't want to install a cage in my car.

I'll forward your question to Bonni Weatherwax who runs the show. I know Miatas need a roll bar, but I'm not sure about the stock MINI cabrio hoops.

I wrote to Bonni and she replied by email. She wasn't able to post to NAM. Anyway she says:

"as long as the rollover protection is permanently stationed, then it is allowed. In other words, pop-up type of rollover protection (i.e., Mercedes Benz) is prohibited. Since is appears that the MINI is equipped with a permanent type of bar, it would be more than welcome to attend. "

So I hope we see a Cabrio.

Requesting time off
So, today I'm asking for time off so that I can attend. I'm broke, but this just sounds like way too much fun!

Yah, spent dollars can be replaced by making more, but lost opportunities are gone forever.

I sent my dollars in today and I am all signed up with just a few days left for early signup. Now I need to decide on my route up there from Las Vegas. Maybe the via the Extraterrestrial Highway.

That's an interesting way to go, but it's hot and lonely out there in case anything goes awry, so carry lots of spares and water.

I know everyone's pumped about the Historics and MTTS, but it's not too late to sign up for these track days.

See you at the track!

Cheers,
Sid
