Maverick MINIs Run to Pescadero (aka Nikki Run #8)

Hey Gang,

It's time for our June Run!

DETAILS:

DATE: Sunday, June 18th

TIME: 9:00AM (depart @ 9:15)

PLACE: Saratoga - 14450 Big Basin Way

ROUTE: new map (Pescadero beaches all charge $6 for parking, so we changed the end a bit)
Meetup point: parking lot at 14450 Big Basin Way on the left side as you're driving south on 9 coming into downtown Saratoga.

RADIOS: set to 7-21

We'll be stopping at Duarte's for lunch. Then we'll head north up the coast to 84 where folks can start finding their way home or motor on.

Hope you can make it!

From Pescadero you could take Stage Rd. over to 84 and back up to Skyline OR take Pescadero Rd. up to Skyline.
Sorry, gonna miss this one.

This time for sure!

Sorry I missed the last one of these but I won't this time. It sounds like fun. Any suggestions on the radios used? I don't have any but would like to get some.

TIA,
\pat

Hi Pat,

I have the Midland LXT410 radios. They have more functions than I really need/use, but the range is rated at 12 mi. (reality is closer to ~4 mi., which is good). I'd recommend a set that's rated for 5 miles or more and has sub-channels (most clubs use ch 7 sub 21).

Looking forward to meeting you next Sunday!

hey, clever! I wish I could talk my stepfather-in-law into hopping in the back for a jaunt in the MINI... on second thought, I don't like how that sounded.
We're still waiting to hear from the in-laws about the timing of an evening thing, so we may still be able to make the run if the two are far enough apart!

Looks like a fun route. I like Pescadero. It's a nice place to stop for lunch.

Runs on holidays are starting to be a Nikki tradition. Maybe we will have light traffic like on the Easter run.

Creeker, you have the hot commute. Must be rough.

Jim, I didn't realize that we were in the same age group.

I loves me some whitewalls. On my ivory Karmann Ghia, I was rolling with some whitewalls for about 4 years, and they were as bright as the sun. LOVED em. Then one was damaged and I couldn't feasibly replace all four financially at the time, and had two switch em out. Sad day.

This is what is copied/pasted in the 'new map' link in post #1. It works for me. Anyone else having problems? I don't see an errant '\'.
