Time to start thinking about our next Motoring event!
Since many of us will be going to AMVIV, how about we look for an April date?
Choices (for Sundays) are the 9th, 16th or 23rd.
I haven't checked any of the club calendars for scheduled events, so chime in with any info, thoughts, etc.
Any route ideas are welcome too!
Is there any interest in a midnight SF run?

I'm interested in a midnight SF run... Depends on the night though, cause I would need sleep before work!

Thanks to Zied and Norm from REME for the updated list!!!

I am interested in that too but think a nice spring run up the coast or through Sonoma might be good for a BAMMERS run.I would guess the 16th would be the best day for a run as there is another on the 8th with REME (I think)
Sorry I missed the gocarting, but my family drove in on Sunday from Canada (now thats a run) and I thought they might be a little upset if I left them.
See you at AMVIV III

I'm up for a coast run. Any sunday will do. Don't know about the midnight run to SF though. May have to pass on that one. Don't want to leave my son alone all night. I'm just a paranoid mom. That's also a perfect time for him to sneak out too...I'm on it

Are we are talking two runs here?
The 16th sounds good to me for a day run. The 8th is the REME Sacramento run and the 23rd is the NorCal Pinnacles run so I want to keep those days free.
If people are thinking of a coast run are we talking south of SF or north of SF?
A Friday or Saturday night would be better for a midnight run for me. I am good for a midnight run that ends at midnight.
If we start at midnight I will have to bring my blanket and pillow and co-driver.
As far as places to visit on an SF Midnight run Great Highway, GG Park, Cliff House, Lincoln Park, the Presidio, the Marina, North Beach, Embarcadero, Market Street and Twin Peaks come to mind.
I wish I had some of those neon underlights.

If we are thinking of a North Coast run, since many people are coming from the south, how about going up 101 to Mill Valley, over the hills to Fairfax, then taking Fairfax-Bolinas Road to Highway 1 and going up to Pt. Reyes Station, then up the coast to Tomales and over to Chileno Valley Road to Hicks Valley Road to Pt. Reyes-Petaluma Road to Nicasio and down to Lucas Valley Road and back to 101. That would give us a mix of coast and back country and hills and valleys. I haven't been on Fairfax-Bolinas for some time and it is one of my favorites. Over the hills and through the woods with views of the ocean and all of that good stuff.
I like it. I have been working on a run in this area. Mt. Tam to Stinson, to Bolinas, but I wanted to try a shot from Fairfax to Bolinas over Alpine Dam. I used to drive that when I was a kid in my MG Midget. It would be great for a MINI.

Looks like there is a lot of interest in Nikki Run #6
(Go BAMMERS) and the date/route suggestions are flying an all directions (pun intended). Nikki do you want to chime in here to add some order to the chaos? What this discussion needs is a strong woman with organizational skills!
From what I'm hearing so far, most votes are for having Nikki Run #6 on April 16th or the 23rd and it seems that most people want to head up the coast. It would also be nice to invite REMI and gang from GCM. As most of you remember, we had a good turn out on Nikki Run #3 when we drove up to Pt. Reyes Station for lunch so I would expect the same for #6.
Nikki, crack the whip!!

I agree though... there's quite a bit going on here, so let's see what we can do to put some order to things...
Date narrowed down to the 16th or 23rd. FYI - Easter Sunday is the 16th, so if anyone doesn't want that date for a run, please speak (or type) up.
Looks like a coastal run northward is winning right now, but we're still accepting other ideas. We can coordinate with GCM/REME/NorCal once a date and destination are determined.
When I mentioned the SF midnight run, I meant on a Friday or Saturday night. Could be an additional run too.

Any more votes and/or input? Post now!
I'm a flake....
so I never know if I'll really be there this far in advance, but I won't be able to make an easter weekend drive. My wife's family has an anual get together up near Seattle...... So I vote for the 23rd.....

Just to stay on topic.........
I would like to finally make it to a run!
If we can give this a little longer, say not picking anything till the 19th or so it would be great for me. I don't get my months schedule until then.
I can see by the way this thread is shaping up however, it'll either be hi-jacked completely or we'll have a date picked before I can go.....
Hello to those I haven't seen in a while......
