Hmm, any idea on timing? Easter Sunday does make it unlikely we can attend though :(

Summit would be correct. A very fun road ! If you take Summit Rd exit and take a right turn to the other side of 17, you can take this road all the way up to Soquel-San Jose Rd and make a right. This road drops you down into Soquel (Soquel rd/Porter). If you keep going straight(turns into Porter), You'll hit HWY 1. You pass all traffic and have fun on the twisties. You can also get off on Bear Creek rd and make a right to go over 17 to the reservoir side. That frontage road (Old Santa Cruz HWY) takes you all the way to Summit Rd. While on Old Santa Cruz you'll want to make sure you stay to your right. When you hit Summit ,just take a left and continue until you reach Soquel-San Jose. This is a nice little drive with little traffic.

This is the way I go home if I'm in San Jose and there is a lot of traffic. Don't tell anyone Ok ?

from hwy1-exit Bay-Porter,from hwy17 in Los Gatos-exit Bear creek off ramp and cross over 17,right turn on frontage road,SLOW Down as you get to the right hand turn,a School and then some road work with a stop sign,next...game on,stay to the right when you get to the "Aldercroft Heights",then don't back off until you hit Summit Rd.,turn left until you hit San Jose Soquel, take a right turn and it will take you to hwy 1,Please Keep in mind that part of Summit Rd. passes by a SCHOOL and a local Shopping center,so slow down until you get to the san jose rd. ,and for the coast run....the same, just backwards..Please .

I've lived my whole life (pretty much) in the bay area...

Last time I stopped there was when the wife and I were house hunting before we bought in Woodside. Looked at a nice 10 acre spread there with two houses on it, but it's a bit of a drive for my wife (she works at Stanford Hospital).

But I've beaten the crap out of pretty much every one of my parents cars up in the hills from 92 south... Now I'm older and beat the crap out of my cars in the hills.

Also almost bought a place on the whosists cut-off between 17 and Scotts Valley....

As you can tell, the grey matter is leaking...

Rick is right... I think we were planning on heading north this time.

I'm hitting the road to Vegas this afternoon so have a great weekend everyone! We'll iron out the final details of Run #6 next week.

For anyone heading to AMVIV... drive safe and we'll see you there!

If you're taking Hwy 46 from 5 to 99 through Wasco - watch out for the local constable ... I saw him give out tickets both going to and coming from AMVIV II.
Drive safe!

Sounds like a plan Creeker. If you like I would be happy to look at the map when you have a draft. I think you will like Fairfax-Bolinas Road. It is a real back roads experience over the hills and through the woods. Chileno Valley is a bit like Highway 25 zipping through the rolling hills and Lucas Valley is a twisty Redwoods experience. Lot of variety in these parts.

Many Many thanks to Mike & Brian for their efforts here!

Proposed route:
Depart GG Bridge Vista Point (the NORTH one) at 9:30am
2nd departure point in Fairfax at 10am: Sir Francis Drake & Bolinas Road. There's lots of regular parking and a nice coffee shop on the corner.

The entire route
First half details
Second half details

The mapped route is an estimated 4 hours not including stops.
We're also working out details for lunch at the William Tell House in Tomales - stay tuned for more information!

Once again, you nailed it. This route looks good and fun with lots of curves to hit.

Heather and I are looking forward to seeing everyone and I will try to limit her water intake to cut down on bathroom stops

Lets hope for a nice sunny day

I'm hoping to make this run with y'all! Just one question, and it's not a make or break question, but will this run travel at the same speed we were running coming home from Vegas Sunday morning? Wheweee, we were jammin'! LOL

Hey, didn't all 10 of us almost get pulled over by the CHP heading up 280 on Nikki Run #3? Didn't something happen to one of the classics on Nikki Run#4?
