Nikki, I could go either Sunday on the run up north. Whatever works best . I looked on NorCal's site and it looks like they have a run on the 23rd to the Pinnacles that day as well. If we do the run on the 16th, I may go to NorCal run.

Here's a real radical suggestion....

The Nor-Cal Shelby club is having an open track event the weekend of the 22nd-23rd. There is a driving school (half-day) on the 22nd in the morning, then open track in the afternoon, and all day sunday. It's not limited to Nor-cal memebers, and there are other members who run Minis (two or three at the last event I did). It's definantly more than a "run" but it's on a real track!

Details are here: http://www.norcal-saac.org/news/0604th.htm

My wife is checking into schedule juggling...

If she has to work and her Mom or a friend can take Alison for the weekend, I'll be there for both days. If she has to work and we can't get coverage for Alison, I won't be there either day! If she can get the time off, we'll be there for both days......

Matt

ps, for non-members you get a $20 add on fee..... But it's still cheap. Also, if you want to run with the club at other events, just join up! The only event that requires a Ford or Ford power is the Mini-Nats in september. All others are open to anything that can pass tech, and isn't open wheeled.

I would be in for a Friday night run (insert sunglasses here) and a run on the 16th of April. It would be great for a north coast run. Can we turn it into a picnic or pot luck lunch?

I am, though I may not be taking MSFIT out on the track, my friend has a saab and he wants to get some track time in. So I might just ride in his car to give him pointers and things since he has never tracked before. We will see what happens, its more than a month away so..

FYI MINI AD AGENCY RUN IS ON APRIL 30th

Final details are just coming together. Meet up at Chrissy Field in S.F. at 8am. A map with route and rally type questions will be given out at start. It will end at their office in Sausilito around 1pm. Lunch will be provided. More info shortly.

A bunch of the Shelby Club people act as coaches, and they're free!

Is MSFIT up for rent again? No pressure because I don't want you to feel like a pimp

hmmm...well I really really really need to put some new control arm bushings..and uh right now going over like 70mph is kinda shakey.

I think I will have the bushings in before this event...and my r-compounds will be on..for the right price i'll rent her out

Looks like that whip needs cracked again!

Back to our regularly scheduled program:

With all the recent chatter, it's looking like the 16th is best.
The 22nd is a track day and the 23rd is the NorCal Pinnacles run.

Wanna start working out a route? Not much else has been suggested so a coastal run up north seems favorable. Then we can have lunch with REME/GCM/NorCal.

Still taking input/ideas for run #6.

We could do a coastal run south.
Start somewhere near 92 and make our way to 35, 35 to 84, 84 to 1, 1 to santa cruz.
Then dine somewhere in SC and you guys can hit up 17 on your way home.

I'd like to join on the 16th

I haven't been to one of these runs yet but if it's on
the 16th I would like to attend. I live
in Ben Lomond and recently bought a 05 Red /Black
JCW Cooper S.

Aside::
I now have a 1988 Porsche 928S4 with ~85k miles on it
for sale ($14K OBO). Its in great shape with all records brand new
timing belt too!-

I need the room in my garage for the new Mini!

In 1987 the 928S4 was the fastest production car in
the WORLD - it's fast but you need a lot of road to open
it up, we're talking controllable & stable 160+mph.
It's not as good on the really tight stuff as the Mini
but on the open road over 80 mph it's amazing.

I just love it when a good woman cracks the whip!

Over to Sonoma Coast State Beach might be nice.

That would give us a mix of coast and back country and hills and valleys. I haven't been on Fairfax-Bolinas for some time and it is one of my favorites. Over the hills and through the woods with views of the ocean and all of that good stuff.
I like the route MCLeonard suggested. I haven't driven any of these roads (except highway 1) but it sounds like some good twisty back roads. I can plot a map once I return from Nashville on Thursday.

When you get this nailed down to a time, date, and place, I'd be happy to list it on my MINI/Mini events distribution mailer.

Official Sponsor/Organizer: Nikki/BAMMERS

That's if you want others to join in.

The only problem with that is 17. Have you seen hwy 17 on a Sunday night coming from Santa Cruz? It can be very ugly.

There's a road that goes up to Summit....

I can't remember what it's called, the "something" -soquel road or cut-off. Very wiendy (sp? I mean curvy), very fun.....
