I appologize for all the other Bammers in not welcoming you to NAM - especially since you opted to use this site for your first post.

Sitting in a hotel room in Harrison, AR
I'll really try to make this run but, right now it doesn't look good. I'm sitting in a hotel room in Arkansas, I've been gone for a week and my wife might want to do a 'family Easter' thing and keep me close.
Also, last Thurs., on the way to work, my car died
Driving East on Hwy 156, went over a hill and as I came down it felt like the transmission popped out of gear. I was able to downshift but could not accelerate. I pulled over to the side of the road and the engine died.
I tried to restart it and, although it would crank with a lot of force, it just would not start.
Called AAA and had them take it up to MINI of MtView.
They tore into it on Friday and found that the fuel pick-up tube had come loose and no fuel was getting to the engine.
They reattached the tube, put the car back together and charged me $350.00 for the trouble. (I also had them upgrade the software so I could register the car -- looking forward to stumbles:impatient )
I picked the car up Friday afternoon. Jumped on 85 to get back to work and the DSC, Air Bag and Tire Inflation lights came on.
I called Peter Smee and he said that the mechanics probable didn't clear the codes after they ran the update????
The DSC and Tire Indicator have gone out but my Air Bag light is still on.
I'm not sure if this has any impact on the car or if it will go into 'Limp home' mode at any time.
I guess I'll run it by MINI of MtView when I get home on Friday.
Soooooo, If I don't make it to the run ... All you Bammers have a good time and keep it under 100!

Any chance to move the meetup point over to the "Marin Headlands" which is at the North end of GGB on the west (ocean side)? From the GGB you can go under the bridge, cross under the highway and park where they film all the NFL commercials. Great views!!! This would be for the people coming from the North on 101.
Don't want o complicate this, so if this doesn't work, we can meet up in Fairafx at 10AM.

This late in the game we think it's best just to leave the starting point as is. Don't want to confuse anyone or miss someone if they don't see the thread before Sunday. But we'll keep this other location in mind for future runs up north.
Thanks!

Hey, looks like it's going to be rainless weekend (finally!), I plan to join your guys assuming I can convince the wife to get up early in Sunday morning. My brain hurts from reading half way through the long thread
, is it possible to update the first page with all these misc meeting information, ie. page mill, Mel's. Since I live in easy SJ, hopefully I can catch some of you on the way up.
In case I somehow get lost, is there a commander cell phone number I can call? sure I'll bring my walkie talkie.
Any mountain bikers here? weather permitting I may take a little bike side trip along Bolinas Ridge, an awesome time of the year.

If there was only 2 kids you can be sure we would all be there chocolate eggs in tow!!. We have only once put three kids in the back of the car but they complained allllll the way around the block
. Hope to meet some of you on the run on the 30th. My birthday so i get to drive !
Fairfax Meeting Point
Here is a photo of the Fairfax meeting point. People who are waiting there can use the parking that is between Sir Francis Drake and Broadway which are parallel going from right to left (E to W) if you are coming from 101. Notice that Bolinas Road is near the middle of the page, with the wide cross walk, going down (N to S) from the parking towards the bottom of the page. There is a nice coffee shop on the left corner of Bolinas and Broadway. If you are arriving on Sir Francis Drake you will need to turn towards Broadway, to get in to the parking and to get to Bolinas Road, using one of the roads that cuts between Sir Francis Drake and Broadway as Bolinas opens to Broadway.
We were at 24 cars with the formal lunch sign-up. But since we changed to brown-bagging, a couple more people have chimed in that they will be joining so my best guess is 26-30.

Nikki,
We are planning a caravan starting in Windsor @ 8AM. Already have a bunch coming. Then we are meeting up with Howard's group from Sacramento, in Novato @ 9AM, so we should be pulling into Fairfax right near 10AM.
Glad you made this a brown bag affair, looks like this could end up being one of the biggest runs of the year. I am not sure that William Tell could have handled 100+ for lunch.
