Nikki Run #5
Pics of Nikki Run #5
By 9:15am we had a good group of people show up

Drove down highway 101 and stopped at highway 129 to pick up two more runners.

We drove down the backroads behind Hollister for a very spirited drive down Cienega Rd. Go Tim Go! Here we stopeed before heading down highway 25.

The end of highway 25 came too soon! What a great drive down a great road!!

Lunch in King City. Can we be more disorganized next time?? :impatient

Talking war stories before lunch

The ride home up highway 101. Here's a picture of Jim taking pictures.

The 12 car Mini procession make their way north, back to the bay area

and we ran into the "biggest car wash I've ever seen"

It was a great run! Tons of fun.
See you all at #6

Props to Dave for the swag, Brian for the route, Nikki for getting us (somewhat) organized, and all the first-timers for experiencing the Nikki Run for what it is. . .good motoring, good people, and good times!

Of all the runs that I've been on since '02 I have to say that was the best! It's something about getting a bunch of people together that not only share the same interest but function the same. Either leading the pack or following there are no surprises. It was a great day. The clouds just kept the 'bears' out of the air.
Thanks again,
Tim
Thanks again,
Tim
We had a blast
and the weather held out for us until the traffic decided to join in.
Thank you so very much for the gear (Dave and Concord MINI)
A big smile goes to Nikki for organizing and for being a very good sport for modeling her MINI next to the MINI wannabe.
See you at the next one and in AMVIV III

Many Thanks to Dave & MINI of Concord for the awesome MINI apparel!
And to Brian for mapping the route and leading much of the way!
Oh, and a great big Welcome to Kat (Cat?) - our newest 'member!'

Even Alison had fun!
And she was singing to herself on the way back home. Even though my wife couldn't come, I did stop at a garlic stand and got her some garlic, and some organic juices for the girl, and a few other things...
Before you all rag on me for getting my wife Garlic, I called her and asked her what she wanted from that far south, and she specifically asked for some! She has Italian blood, and uses a lot in cooking.
On the drive back home, I just kept looking at the rain ahead..... it's been non-stop at my house since mid yesterday. At least we only got sprinkles for the spirited driving....

Terrie and I had a great time as well. Thanks for the cool stuff from Dave and MINI of Concord. We took the back way to San Juan Batista. The Old Stage Road was "ok" except for the "county mountie" we had to follow for most of it. He turned off just as we got on San Juan Grade Road......I think to hide for unsuspecting speeders
... but he was behind me and stopped so off we went. The road was pretty narrow, bumpy, rainy and lots 'n lots of traffic ( not sure where they were coming from ) but in all very scenic but not a road that I would drive again. Thanks to everyone for a great day....and see some you in Vegas.

No Unattended Vehicles
Hey I think this is a start of a photo contest. I missed getting the vehicle owner wearing her yellow fleece to make a perfect picture. Don't know where she went? Hope that vehicle wasn't left unattended for too long.
It was a fun drive. Everyone really Motored. Enjoyed the route and had a good lunch. Four of us went out Bittercreek and back up Highway 25. It was quite fun going the other way too. Didn't get much rain until after Gilroy. As we got to San Juan Batista we heard the crackle on the radios from the rest of the group.

We got held up in traffic from just north of Salinas to, at least, 156 (where I turned off). Next time we'll have to remember about the weekend traffic and go back the way we came.

Bay Area Minis Motoring Every Random Sunday
I found out why my car was handling like crap. I had new tires installed last Thursday. I guess the kid at work who put them on for me has yet to learn how to use a tire pressure guage. I had less than 30 psi in the fronts, 25psi on the left rear and 15 psi in the right rear.

Glad it was a good run, hello to those I haven't seen in awhile.
