What to bring to AMVIV III

I don't know about everyone else but I'm gettin' stoked about Vegas!!! I thought it would be cool to get a list together of some things that you're glad you brought to AMVIV II. I don't know how I forgot my cleaning supplies, and Ipod charger!!

-Cash
-2-way radios
-Chargers for cells, cameras, 2-ways, Ipods, laptops, etc.
-ID
-Windex and paper towels for the bug party
-Detailing Supplies
-Camera
-Booze
-Portable DVD players for the kids

I know there's more..................

I went last year for the 1st time and you have it pretty well covered......you did mention $$$$$$ thats a good thing. Plus don't plan on sleeping much...too many things to do in too short of time + 80-100 MINI's on I-15 going to "Valley of Fire" is a site to behold.
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.....................

Remember - layers!
Although it is winter you can experience the full spectrum ... cold, cold nights and mornings and shirtsleeve weather at mid-day
Also, remember to bring your sponges & chamois - the 'do-it-yourself' car wash is great to spray off, soap up and rinse ... but I wouldn't want to use its brush on my car.

I can hardly wait

76 days to go. Seems like it will never get here.

Take cash, but remember cash taken to Vegas stays in Vegas

We're hoping that it will be a little warmer, or at least drier, this year. It's the end of March instead of the beginning, so it should be good. This year is looking much warmer so far than last. It was 68 degrees at lunchtime according to the MINI, and bright sunshine. Absolutely beautiful!

What to bring that's not already on the list?
Spare camera batteries/film/memory
A high tolerance for fun (and alcohol)
Sunblock (though there are fabulous AMVIV III hats on sale this year, perfect for warding off the sun)
Sunglasses
YOUR MINI!!!!!!

Lagston, actually, you don't really need to bring booze. We have some here waiting for you.

See you all here.

I love this town!

I can't wait for AMVIV! It's going to be a great event.
I have lived in Vegas for about 12 years now and I have some recommendations for eating...

Mexican: Lindo Michocan or Bonita Michocan for authentic mexican cusine. Be st in town

Thai: Lotus of Siam rated one of the top 50 restaurants in america. Small and reasonably priced.

Cajun: Soul 2 Soul has a gumbo bowl you would not believe

Sushi: I Love Sushi in henderson. Great atmosphere.

none of these places are anywhere near a casino. Locals know where to go. enjoy!

The one thing I wished I HAD brought with me last year was aspirin and some cold medicine. Very expensive in the ol' gift shop.

Mmmmm! Thai, cajun and sushi (not sure that I trust it that far from the ocean, but if you say so...) Sounds like reason enough to go!

If they do a Pocker Run this year, a co-pilot comes in handy.

GMG, I'd love to be able to give away one of your glove box tidys. PM me and we can work something out. If you want to be a vendor and do a display and stuff, or if you just want to be a hellofa nice guy and give one away, we'd be rapt!
Oh...tell your wife that the casinos LOOOOOVE roulette players. Great odds for the house. She'd be much better off moving to blackjack or craps (if she knows how to play craps properly). The only game with worse odds than roulette is keno.

Aspirin and cold medicine, if you need some and forgot to bring it, hit a Walmart/Walgreens/Save-On/... on the way back from one of the runs. The only thing to buy in a casino gift shop is the casino-specific stuff. Logo stuff. Anything else, you can usually find for 1/2 the price less than a mile away (ok, maybe 2 miles if you're staying ON the Strip). And since you're going to be driving around anyway....

Seafood in Vegas is often decent. There is so much of it used here that it's flown in daily and doesn't usually have time to go bad. Some of the best seafood I've had in the US was here. Of course, I've also had "average" stuff here too. It varies from place to place. If anyone wants recommendations for a particular style of food, PM or email me. I've always been good at food.

Shoes? Ok. The casinos are further apart than you think.

We are currently planning on having a Poker Run again this year, though we have still to decide on a theme for the run. Co-pilot certainly makes it easier (and safer) but is not essential, especially since IT IS NOT A RACE and there is no bonus for getting back super fast.

See you all here.
Agro.

I am with GoMiniGo on "Not bringing the kids". We have 5 and we are psyched to have 5 days away from them.....ok they will be missed but not for very long!

Remember that MINI owners are the best kind of people around so keep a big smile and come introduce yourself....mingle, mingle, mingle.....get to know as many fellow motorers as you can.

Oh yeah, cash, credit or debit cards and if your really desperate, perhaps your first born, in case you don't make out so well at the roulette tables....might be a good barganing chip: ) OH yeah I already said NOT to bring the kids ok....I best stay away from the roulette wheel.

Me!

Ok, so you don't have to bring me, but I am looking for someone who wouldn't mind sharing a room - I freed up at the last minute, and the Palace is full.
I don't want to have to sleep in the MINI, or find another place to stay.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
PM me!
