MINIcaching in Northern California

What is MINIcaching? (mini-cashing)

MINIcaching is an entertaining adventure for all Mini Cooper owners and enthusiast. It utilizes the Global Positioning System (GPS). The participating in MINIcache is a great way to take advantage of the features of a GPS unit. The idea is to have individuals set up caches around our area and sharing the locations of the caches over the internet. GPS users can input the location into their unit and find the cache location. After one finds the location there may be a number of wide variety of rewards. All that is asked of the visitor is that if you take something from the location, please replace it with something.

This is a new event that Gold Country Mini is bringing to you!!! For more information about caches in your area or hiding a cache please go here. Come join in the fun and find some treasure today!!!!!

if people want to learn more, go to geocaching.com

tho this thread is mini-specific, which is cool, but i live in Atlanta, so it doesn't help me...but geocaching sites are all over the world...maybe we should start a trend where when any of us go to a geocaching site, we leave a MINI trinket behind...

That is exactly the idea. Since you live in Atlanta why dont you go to the MINIcache site and hide one in Atlanta.... The idea is to make this a National thing as well as global, but for MINIs..

This is very cool. I just ordered a PDA with Bluetooth GPS receiver, etc. and I've been visiting www.geocaching.com in anticipation of getting into this.

I like the idea of a MINI specific geo-cache forum. Added the site to my favorites.

Sounds good Jerseygirl. Help facilitate the movement by placing some caches in the area... follow the "how to place a cache" for more detail on that.

Check out Maptech software for your PDA/GPS combo. You can download USGS Topo maps and nautical charts. I have been using this for quite a while, and it's way cool.
