jan tune
jan tune
does anyone want to set up a tuning session from Jan in RMW? i don't know how many people he needs, but i'm sure there are dozens of mini owners there who need a tune like me. start signing up people!
We just had one not too long ago where I organized one back in March. There were about 18 people that attended that event. There were however some that missed the event and would like to have another chance. Just spoke with Jan and would like to organize another one in the near future.
Meanwhile, Jan is coming out with a new SC, it's the TVS 900 version, however that won't be completed anytime soon. I was thinking to hold one when that new SC is ready so we can have it installed along with a new tune.

awesome, we need at least 10 more people! i was holding out thinking i'm not keeping the mini any longer, but theres a change of plans and so i'm going to continue to work on it. it needs a tune after all the mods i put in it, and i'm sure there are a lot of people in the same way.

i just sent jan a pm asking the details and necessities he needs in order to get up here for a tuning session.
ot- where in the bay area are you located? i'm in fremont. we should go on a run sometime!
i sent him a pm and he needs at least 12 cars minimum, plus someone to pick him up and drop him off at the airport. if it's less than 12 cars, we cover his airfare. he suggested goodies speed shop (which is where the last tuning session was held, i believe) because they have a dynapack.
atcql, should we add you on the list too?
and crazyaboutmini let's go on a run saturday morning! you can show me around your neck of the woods!

the place is in san jose, mabe 2 and 1/2 drive for you the most. and he quoted me $350 a while back... but don't count on that price for certain.
sushiboi- i work in the mornings, how about monday morning?

For those of you that want this to happen:
I organized one back in March of this year and the place was at the Goodies shop.

I know the owner since I worked with him last time. I'm sure that he would feel comfortable if he dealt with me again, sorta a familiar face and knows what to expect.
Having said that, I am not sure if I can hold this event again since it's too much time and lots of effort. If there are 12 serious people perhaps I can start the process rolling and see if I can help you guys get this thing rolling and set up a time and a date with the shop and Jan.
As far as the 12 man list. That will take 2 days to do since one day will only fit about 8 as last time's experience told us so. The Goodies shop in San Jose is very accommodating and they have the workforce along with the space/parking spaces to hold a large session.
If Jan wants 12 people then I would suggest that it doesn't go beyond that number since the shop will charge us a minimum amount per day. The 2nd day would be only a half day since we can tune 8 cars in day one and the next 4 in half day's time on the 2nd day. That would make the most sense.

Definitely interested. The date early this year was originally supposed to be in January and kept getting pushed back (not a criticism, just an observation)—as such, I wasn't able to make it.
I'd love to attend this time around, but since I'd be driving up from Monterey, I've gotta get closer to a firm date before I can commit 100%. Have you heard back from Jan when he would be available?

Wasn't the deal that if it was less than 12 people then we cover his airfare? How expensive can that be spread over 8 people? An extra $50 per person, tops? He's just coming up from SoCal right?
I can't speak for the group, but I'd gladly pay an extra $50 to lock down a date and get this rolling. Just a bonus that the session would be small. More individual attention that way.

yea when i sent him a PM he requested at least 12 people. but if we can't muster up that much, i wouldn't mind paying the extra coinage to send him up here. actually, i'm heading to socal in 2 weeks to visit family for my birthday. maybe i'll pay him a visit while i'm down there...?
