Great thanks for the response. I finally get the chance to meet the Doctor.

I still don't know whom will fit when since almost everyone can make it both days. There are approximately 14 members that have confirmed so far and perhaps we can divide them in to a group of 2 with no particular order.

I will of course try not to put any individual on a particular day that he/she can't make.

OK so as of right now assuming we get 15 people committed for this event we will need to rent the shop for $1,000 per day which brings the total cost to $2,000 for 2 days.

We then have to divide that amount between 15 people which is a $133.33 per person for the dyno time. That of course is not including the $350.00 for Jan's tune. So the more people that can make it the cheaper will it be for everyone.

There is one last thing to consider and that is the amount of time we can spend per day in the shop which dictates how many people can fit in per day and total for 2 days.

Jan is going to have work hard and fast to make sure we get everyone done in 2 days.

Latest confirmations with dates

So here is the entire list with members that have confirmed the dates and that they can make it:

1-SharoSC02---->Confirmed "Thursday March 6th session"
2-brownflyer---->Confirmed "Thursday March 6th session"
3-A4blur--------->Confirmed "Friday March 7th Session"
4-kmickey------->Confirmed "Thursday March 6th session"
5-sandini-------->Confirmed " Friday March 7th session"
6-rkw------------>Confirmed "Friday March 7th session"
7-kazlot--------->Confirmed "Thursday March 6th session"
8-yumhaggis---->Confirmed "Friday March 7th session"
9-latte hiatus--->Confirmed "Thursday March 6th session"
10-MINICHEF---->Confirmed "Thursday March 6th session"
11-Checkers----->Confirmed "Thursday March 6th session"
12-SCA----------->Confirmed "Thursday March 6th Session" 5pm
13-chengchiro--->Confirmed "Thursday March 6th session"
14-Dr O.--------->Confirmed "Thursday March 6th session"
15-mikenaron--->Confirmed "Friday March 6th session"
16-Twon--------->Confirmed "Friday March 7th session"

On a side note:

It's better to have most of the people to try and come in on Thursday so that we can tune as many cars as possible on the 1st day which is Thursday and hence don't end up spending all of the 2nd day (Friday) tuning as well. That way the shop won't have to charge us for 2 full days. The less time we spend on the 2nd day the better and most likely they will charge us for half a day on Friday the 7th.

Thank you again
Sharo

The shop will try to accommodate us by staying open after their regular business hours of 8-5pm. So your best bet is to be there as close to 5pm as possible to do the tune. Because it takes at least an hour to do a tune if not longer.

And I'm not sure we can do more than one car past 5pm should we take another car after your tune. That in itself will extend the shop's opening time up to 7pm considering it takes 1 hour per car.

Having said that, I will now place you as confirmed member on the list and expect to see you there on Thursday 5pm.

If anyone is looking for a place to "bench race" their new "tune", Please drop by Yankee Pier on Santana Row for a bite or drink. I will hopefully be getting mine "tuned" on thursday, and welcome all MINI owners. I'll be there on Thursday and Friday. Come on down and lets discuss Dyno numbers
Steve
Oh, and by the way Sharo and Jan, Dinners on me

Sharo, thanks for bringing this together!

I'll mention that on Friday, my slot can be anytime between 10 am and 3:00 pm, but 10 am would be ideal.

Well the bad news is that it appears I've lost my #3 spot in the queue, even though I started this thread. The good news is that the reason I was away from my computer and missed the confirmation rush was a long weekend of near epic powder skiing up in Tahoe.

So Thursday am is the only time I could make it, but it sounds like that is not possible as we already have 10 cars confirmed for that day. If there is any way I can get in and out between 9:30 - 12:00 Thursday am, then I'm in.

tazio, don't give up hope! Some of those listed for Thursday had said they could do either day, and I'm sure some will volunteer to help you out by moving over to Friday. Also I'm not clear that there is any formal numbering of the queue.

fells, the number order is simply random and doesn't indicate who's 1st or last. I just happen to number them like that. tazio you can have number 1 if you wish but it doesn't really mean anything,,hahaha

Also, I can find out who can change his day with you and so we can have you come in on Thursday.

Anyone wants to chime in and change his Thursday with tazio??? Let him or me know here.

Also, please respond all your responses here since my message box keeps getting full plus it's easier to track down who said what.

tazio, I changed Dr. O's time with you. He was gracious enough to change his time.

Thank you Dr.O.

Also, Jan mentioned that for everyone to bring cash if possible since it makes it easier for him. We don't want him to run in with issues with checks.

Another reminder, please have your cars checked in advance for any leaks or problems, spark plugs being bad, wrong pulley belts and what not. Take your car to a shop before hand and have it checked in for any possible problems. This will only help your tune and Jan to do his job better for better results.

And last but not least, before anyone gets too excited, we are trying to see if we can extend the days to partial time on Saturday March 8th as well to make sure we don't run in to cars that didn't get a tune with all the members signing in.

So for those that have set your date you will keep that date. Saturday will play out as an emergency type partial day only for any leftover cars.

Dr O, you are an officer and a gentleman, sir. Thanks!

So, I will plan to be there as early as possible thursday, but it will likely be tough to get there before 9:30, given distance and traffic. I'm hoping that if a car is underway when I arrive, I could slip in next. Could other thursday morning people reply as to whether that would be cool with them? I really need to be back at work by 1:00. So if it's going to be a rigid 1st come-1st served and I am going to be several cars down the list when I arrive, I'll have to bail out.

BTW, I should not take overly long on the dyno: I got a new SC belt, oil change and inspection 1k miles ago, and only about 15k on recent plugs, so should not require a lot of extra attention.

Again, thursday morning folks, please reply if you are ok with me jumping into the next place in line when I arrive. I can totally understand if not, so no worries.

Cheers!

Thanks, Lauryn! So here are the other folks listed in front of me on Thursday:

1-SharoSC02
2-brownflyer
3-kmickey

Are any of you planning to show up in the am? If so, do you mind if I "cut in line" around 9:30-10:30?

Let me know, thanks.

I'm not clear about how this is supposed to work. Does everyone just randomly get there as early as we can, or will some schedule be set up?

Tazio,
I don't mind waiting an extra hour or two just to get you in there. I'll probably get there after 9am as I'm comming from Fairfield and that will be at least 1.5 hour drive (w/o) traffic.
