I *think* everyone but East Bay Mini will try to mark it up - friends of mine have bought cars there and been happy with them (and service has been good in my limited experience too).

Good luck!

Mini Concord doesn't have a mark-up, good guys in there. I ended up buying from Niello Mini in Sacramento, Wade is my MA, he's been great. They have a $950 mark-up but quickly dropped it when I mentioned I was dealing with Concord first. Niello was able to get my car faster by a couple months! Should be here any day!!

Good luck!!!

Talked with Ben @ MINI of Mountain View a couple weeks back and he informed me that there are no more mark ups at dealers. I guess MINI is producing at a faster rate now.

I've bought a few parts from Mountain View and Concord. I bought my auto in Sacramento. I've had mixed service expereinces at Sacramento and will try Concord for the next wheel alignment which is needed immediately. I can also say that Sacramento sold my special order 2006S for less than sticker.

I wonder if that is univerally the case or just the places who couldn't get it stopping, ie if I walked into SF Mini or one of the mark-up kings in SoCal if they have stopped - has anyone been to SF Mini lately?

It would be great if they all really had stopped; I personally believe in doing business with the dealers who are not trying to rip me off in the first place rather then reward those that do with my hard earned cash by having to make them relent.

Satisfied customer

Bought mine at Niello, Mark was the MA. They have a $950 mark up, but as soon as you mentioned Mini of Concord they dropped it down to MSRP. Mark was great to work with, kept us informed the whole time. Concord said we could expect it sometime in July and wouldn't guarantee the price so we went with Niello. We picked it up from Niello on May 24th and haven't put the keys up yet.

Could you give us some of the specifics on the experiences you and your friends have had at MtView Mini?

I ordered my car through them and the MA I dealt with seemed reasonable. However, it remains to be seen what service will be like post-sale.

See his thread here. My service experience there has been good. Jennifer has been an excellent SA.

I've got nothing but good things to say about Mini/ Mountain View. Excellent and prompt service , and Jennifer, Peter and Mo, are top notch.

I ordered my MCS at Niello and Wade is also my MA. No mark-up and Wade was very helpful.

Ordered Sept 19th and expected wait including possible delay is 12 weeks.

Mt View service is spotty...

Jennifer is a step op for sure. Peter Smee, well, some of the things he's said have been somewhat surprising.... But I'm not the only one who's had phone calls not returned and the like (Jennifer and Peter both). Ben in sales is good, as far as I know... But when I bought there were severe mark-ups. So I went elsewhere.....

San Francisco is still marking up! They were quoting me a $2500 markup for my S, which made me run as fast as I could all the way out to East Bay Mini. My MA, Blair, took great care of me. Email updates and prompt phone replys when needed...WITH NO MARKUP!!! The only caveat, they don't do loaners of an kind which kind of sucks considering their distance from SF.
