MINI launches the Countryman and a new Ad campaign!
MINI just informed me they'll be starting a new print and television ad campaign today to go with the release of the Countryman and they wanted current MINI enthusiasts to be the first to see it....
The four new, 15-second TV commercials take the versatility of the new MINI Countryman and show it off in a handful of slick and smart short films. The key to the MINI Countryman is how good it is for bridging the gap between urban and country life. The new claim, “MINI Countryman. Getaway.” says it all: get out there and escape the monotony of everyday life. From fashionistas to families, roadside baby-emergencies to hipster-chic sheep shearing, the films are made to make you laugh.
In its print debut, the MINI Countryman is set against refreshing copy that takes the MINI Countryman from inner-city dullness to the freedom of nature that lies outside city limits. 4-Wheel-Drive, 4 Doors, this 4th member of the MINI family’s got 5 seats and a love of the outdoors.

Hmm, I didn't know that! Guess I have to do more looking at clubmans (clubmen..) etc.
I thought it was just going to be like a new "model" of mini, like: 2011 MINI Countryman S etc.
But back on track, those ads look mean! I'm gonna have to check the countryman out in person, because I can't picture myself driving one quite yet.

I like to think of One, Cooper, and Cooper S as being trim levels, but the same "car" where as the Clubman and Countryman are unique cars of their own but still very MINI.
I can't decide if the grille shape on the S looks more intimading or if it just looks grumpy. It's still taking the eyes a little getting used to.

It will say "ReGuLaH CooPaH"... comes with the "Hah Hah" package, which includes leaky motor-mounts, leaky thermostat housing, and weaky LCA bushings.

That's exactly it. One, Cooper, Cooper s, and JCW are more like performance levels and not really cars. I debadge mine anyways... everyone knows what it is. MINIs don't need labeled.

sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but I just saw this: http://autos.aol.com/article/2011-mi...tryman-review/
and thought it was a nice review of how the countryman actual handles. Plus it's got some good shots of the interior. I also agree whole-heartedly with the first paragraph.
I just hope they updated the ipod interface to be more user-friendly....
Also, I read in this article that the US models will only have a 4-seater option, not the 5-seater bench option? Anyone know anything about this?

I really don't think that you are going to see any in the dealerships before December, maybe even January. The roll out is February, I believe. I had read on Motoringfile that they weren't even going to start producing for the US market until late October. They might have revised that, but I haven't heard.
