Hey everyone. I have an '04 S in dark silver with sport, premium, cold packages. Alta intake and next will be new rims and possibly 15% pulley.. What do you have?

I am in lower Bucks County PA, right across the river from NJ, I have 2 2003 DS S's, one DS/B with mods, one DS/W, stock. Check out the PhillyMINI Yahoo group and www.nemini.org for more regional activity.

PhillyMINI obviously covers Phila. plus South Jersey, with some New Yorkers and Central/North Jersey.

NEMINI is basically North Jersey, New York and into CT, with some activity from Philly and further up in New England.

Good luck and welcome!

Hi-Ya sckuchta!

Welcome to the neighborhood! Check out my sig for my mods... I'll be putting suspension bits on next week and switching over to my summer rims. I also recommend PhillyMINI, as a good group of people (that are also pretty active with a good number of activities). MINI Owners of New jersey host 'OctCOOPERfest' each october and that's usually lots of fun too. That's held in Bridgewater, NJ.

Hey, enjoy the ride!

Expecting my MCS/ blk/blk /prempkg/armrest/dealer installed chrome grill (didn't want chrome mirrors) wk Apr 18...opted out of HK...sounded ok but not $550 worth...looking for referral--recommendation to good stereo shop with MINI-upgrade experience in North Jersey...don't want rattles when they are finished.

I'm also in Central Jersey. I have an '05 PW/B MC which I picked up from Morristown MINI on Jan. 14, 2005. Great dealership, by the way.

I've had my CR/B 05 MCS for 5 months now. I also bought mine at Morristown and can't say enough good things about them. So far mine just has S03's, 15% pulley and a remus exhaust. Last 2 gone on within a week and I'm psyched!

SO3=Bridgestone Potenza SO3 tires, a very nice performance choice that also does well in the rain.

RUKnight -

How much of a difference do you feel in 'seat of the pants' dept., with the addition of the 15% pulley and exhaust? ...and yeah, who did your install? I was thinking of going to see Eric at Helix (he does great work) but it's bit bit of a hike...

I'm doing some suspension mods next week (once the springs, rear sway and control arms arrive from Detroit Tuned via UPS  ). I also plan on doing a 15% pulley, exhaust and some form of chip/software re-map afterwards. I wanted to get the suspension sorted first.

Well I had the pulley done Friday by Eric at Helix. Let me tell you it friggan rocks. The 05 was decent to begin with since MINI shortened the gearing but now the car flies. Want to pass someone on the highway? Just mash the go peddle. Now with a hard shift into 2nd I can light up the tires whereas before they would just give a nice healthy bark. The power is everywhere and the car still feels stock which is nice. Overall I'm really pleased with the 15% pulley...it rocks!

Helix is worth the ride. Eric is extremly professional and he'll sit and talk MINI's or cars in general with you for however long you want. He's a really nice guy and honestly it was well worth the ride to have him do the pulley. In fact I'll probably be heading back in the future to have him do a few other things. Leave early from work Friday, go to Helix and have Eric do the pulley and go grab a cheesesteak at Gino's...it's worth the trip!

The exhaust will be going on this week, it's in the mail now. I'm not expecting big gains from it, it's mainly going on to change the tone of the stocker.

Helix pulley

RUKnight:
Picked up my MCS yesterday in Morristown, and I'm one happy camper! Had a Jetta VR6 and, like you, considered an R32, but issues with VW made me an enemy for life.

Glad to hear you're satisfied with 15" pulley! I'll start mods with speaker upgrade, probably Infinity 6002si, but I've already spoken with Erik at Helix.

Did you also put in cold air intake?

Right now the intake on my car is stock. I'm not a huge fan of most of them on the market so I'll likely do the HAI but I want to try and make it a little prettier as I need some function to go with my form I like the AGS by M7 but it hasn't been proven and I'm not spending 250 bucks unless its well proven

hey guys,

I live in hoboken and have had my mini since december, you can check out my mods in my signature. Eric at helix is great, I really nice guy, but also check out when Randy has his pulley parties. I drove all the way to Rhode Island the other weekend and was worth the trip. He is an awesome guy and does great work. Also I would recomment he Alta intake, especially if you like that cool sucking nose

hmmmm, pulley party, hmmmm...

Has it ever been done in the NY/NJ area, or the proximity to Helix just makes it bad karma?

Wow, I'm lazy, just don't wanna take the drive, and positive I will be unable to do it during the week anytime soon. Anyone know if eric does anything on Saturdays?

yeah I don't think Randy wants to go to close to NY, NJ or PA...its too close to Helix. Yeah Eric does sat.'s. I drove down on a sat morning and he did my pulley, exhaust and sway bar in a couple of hours. just give him a call and see when he can fit you in, great guy to talk too.

I also had the 15% pulley installed by Randy at the Rhode Island pulley party, and it was well worth the trip.. It's cool being able to smoke the tires in 2nd gear now (and I still have the heavy stock wheels on) Waiting to receive Team Dynamics Pro 1's from outmotoring. The Alta intake is a nice addition to.. seems to work good.

I'm in the bmwcca and I noticed a drive is scheduled along the Delaware River on May 22nd.. Anyone interested??

Maplewood NJ HERE!

Wow, it's nice to see the MINI drivers in NJ. I have a BRG/W Cooper with S bumpers, Racing lights and bonnet stripres. I got my Cooper from Morristown MINI and the experience so far has been good. There's a Red/W cooper down the block, a BLK/BLK S in town, a PW cooper and my unlce has a Silver/black cooper. Hope to meet one of you guys some time soon!

Oh yeah, I saw a MINI meet on Route 10 late one saturday night; any of you involved in that. There were about 6 MINIs at a light and I stopped in front of them and waved!. Just wondering...
