Looking at pulling my headlights off / apart to paint them. Unfortunately, a few of the bolts just spin and spin... Not sure if I need to take it in to have someone drill them? I don't want to break a bunch of tabs. I've broken enough plastic on this car. LOL
Also - I have a foggy fog light (HA!) that I haven't been able to clear up. My thought was that heat from the bulbs would get the water evaporated, but it doesn't happen. Either way, there's moisture trapped in it. So do I need a new fog light, or do I need to replace a gasket of some kind?
Thoughts?
Lamp replacements for the fogs are going to be PIAA Plasma Ion Yellow Bulbs
Being an engineer and designing plastic injection molded parts for a while now, it makes me sad the way they worked a lot of the plastic on the MINI (at least the R53, can't speak for R56). They could have done a much better job

The r56 is loaded with plastic. How about designing black exterior door handle and gas cap covers?

If you send me some I can design them. Or some measurements. The problem isn't designing them, it's getting enough interest to have them injection molded or vacuum formed.

There was a company offering black trim and was very popular on here. Aesthetic Creations but the owner closed the business and went to do something else. There is alot of cheap CF pieces on ebay that I keep looking at. But I would have to paint it. I wonder if people would be interested in the covers in body color?

Sure do. Problem is, if you're looking to injection mold something especially low quantities the cost can be quite high. Why don't you PM me your email or something and we can talk some more? Maybe even tonight at the meet if I can make it out of work in time.

Rear seat delete cover would look BOMB in Carbon Fiber.
As far as the fog lamp, there is a tiny breather in housing itself.
Any idea where this breather is specifically? I'd like to check it before I pick up the $100 fog light that I just ordered from eminiparts.com (pickup in Bedford tonight).
Ordered a set of PIAA Plasma Ion Yellow H8 bulbs from Mike today. Found a great deal online, and BavAuto price matched them. So huge kudos to them.

I don't remember where but it will look like a little mesh thing on the back of the housing.
Not if people jump on the opportunity. Carbon Fiber with a big old John Cooper Works badge in the middle of it. That s**t crack....
I suppose you're right, assuming you could print off a sticker / vinyl of the logo. An exterior JCW badge can cost upwards of $80 - $90, which means that the badge alone cost 3 - 4 times what my seat delete cost me to make (including the refreshments).
Nick make sure you receive your confirmation email first before you pick it up. Lol. You don't want to put out the parts guy by making him look up your order first.
