New Hampshire Mini Meets? Anyone interested?
Has anyone else been to the Tap House in Hooksett? I went a few weeks ago and think it would be a good spot for a gtg. Plenty of parking.

Tap is in a stirp mall so there is plenty of parking.
All day, all night.
In other news - know anyone that would want to clean intake valves (walnut blast)? Might try to do it myself, just don't want to muck anything up. LOL

JCW goes back to the doctor next week.....reduced power light came on, and turbo won't spool up. Hooray!! This is becoming a once a month affair.
I think I have a pretty good grasp on what needs to happen. I've had some rich mixture codes, especially when the temps increase. I've had trouble with some other things as well - all intake related, so I'm curious what my intake valves look like. Fuel mileage and HP aren't where they should be.
Hopefully an afternoon of Seafoam soak and scrub will help.

Going to take the manifold off, and let the closed valves soak in Seafoam, scrub, vacuum out the gunk, dry, repeat as necessary. Put the car in gear, roll it a bit to close the other valves, repeat the entire process with the other valves.
People have said that Seafoam through the PCV isn't nearly as effective as actually taking the manifold apart and cleaning it. I don't have a lot of money, but I've got plenty of time.

I as well. I'm positive my valves have never been cleaned. VALVE CLEANING WEEKEND!!!
I'm happy to use my car as the guinea pig. What are you guys up to this weekend? And Ryan, and chance you could find us some space?
Edit: Or at least an air compressor? I'm feeling pretty confident in everything else, to be honest.

I have an air compressor, but the fun boat goes in Friday, and I also do not want to take the intake off until MOB figures out what's wrong. But I will watch and help when the hand is needed.
Doesn't matter to me either way, as long as we have access to an air compressor. We're pretty much dead in the water without one. And I've been looking at a really good write-up in the how-to section - here. Have a look at the PDF at the bottom of the first post, and let me know if you think there's anything there that we can't handle.
First Gen MINIs don't generally have trouble with carbon build up on the intake / valves. It's a Direct Injection problem that the R56, and several other DI cars (Golf, Mazda 3, etc.) have as well.
