i may call kinetic motorports in hampstead tomorrow. they do a bunch with Cobb tuning and specialize in the accessport that alta sells seeing as its perrin in the STI world... i feel like with a tune the open air CAI will be beneficial.. i could be wrong though

I was telling David, a couple of weeks ago, I tinkered with the JCW airbox. Left the bottom portion of the box on, flipped the top cone and piping, securing it inside the bottom box. Looked pretty good, sounded sweet as hell. Noticed a little bit of performance loss at the top end but figured the noise was worth the loss. Put the whole thing back to factory spec last night for ***** and giggles. HUGE difference in performance. I think I was way to stoked about the noise then the power. I have come to the conclusion that I am keeping the JCW on, replacing the filter with a dry AFE cone, and leaving it alone. BOV/Recirc, intercooler muff delete, res delete, Mini Madness intercooler sprayer, bigger IC, and call it a night. I didn't realize how much the JCW tune works with each piece. Also notice the exhaust has a little more growl.
yeah, the noise it puts off is great but that's about it. I am suprised you lost power on the top end. When i had the K&N intake on my car i felt a power loss at the lower side and felt an increase up top. After going back to the factory airbox with OEM paper filter, i felt the low end puch come back. Since the diverter valve install and the NM discharge pipe, i totally noticed an increase in performance right away.

Mike, can you get something similar to the filter above? I wish I could get the measurements and just grab an AFE, but I would rather go through you. Which valve did you end up going with?
