I believe you need either a Dimsport or Accessport ECU flash tool. Then contact Jan at RMW for the tune.

I have a Dimsport for sale on the NAM market place. It is new, never used, half price. PM me if interested.

 

What was the rough total cost to have the remote tune done?

well what I did will not benefit others in the same way. Mine was a unique situation where my car had already been tuned but had some bad sensors. So after the sensors were repaired I sent my tune to Jan to be tweaked....

 

RMW has a "canned" tune on their web page. I thought I had read elsewhere that after you bought that tune you could then have your car dyno'ed and then send the dyno results to Jan to have the canned tune tweaked

 

Might as well get a custom tune with RMW right from start! You'll save the cost of the programmer, the canned tune, the dyno, etc. Honestly, that's what I plan on doing! I'd rather drive all the way from Quebec to him and be done, no messing around!

 

Did you notice how long this post has been going on. It is easier though costly to do a canned tune vs having him do it on the car.

 

Don't you need a flash tool like a Dimsport if you want to get updates or return your car to stock?

 

Eddie, you may want to check to see if your 2012 MY car can be flashed through the obd port or if it has to be done hard to the chip.....

 

There is another thread that I am following for the '11s and '12s on this subject. According to that thread, for right now these cars need to be hard coded for a tune. There maybe some effort to develop a flash tune, but nothing as of yet. This is one reason why I am selling my Dimsport.

I met up with Jan individually at a track in southern NJ last spring to tune my JCW.

I am planning to see him again this spring whenever he makes his "group trip," since my 2011 JCW needs a little tweak from one of his files.

Yea Jan is def a good guy. I'm thinking about getting mine tweaked a bit in the warmer months. I'm in CT, so if anyone is having work done by him within a couple states of me, please let me know. It might make it more worthwhile for him to come out having even just 1 extra car to work on.

Try to give me a heads up early April. Jan may be going to Philadelphia, Helix(?) some time this coming spring.

I believe Jan will be coming east this spring. Not sure exactly where but I think to Philly.

Suggest you e-m him at Revolution for dates and cost to tune your car.
