Has anyone else had a problem with their dealer service??? I had to bring my mini back to the dealership to get the control unit recoded b/c the car kept stalling on me in the middle of driving.... anyhow I come back to pick up my car and there is a dent on the hatch !!!!

The Tech tried to brush me off about it... so i demanded to speak with a manager. He checked the sign in sheet and nothing was marked off for body damage. But then he tried to tell me that he doesnt know for sure that the dent was caused by them... I was getting really upset at this point and i stood my ground, and restated that nothing was marked off therefore the damage was caused in their possession,!!! ok fine, the guy finally says to me as a 'good will' gesture they will fix the dent (doesnt this mean they took responsibility?)

Ok, I did another night drop, and the next day they call me up telling me its all fixed and set to go. I go to pick it up afterwork,no keys, no paper work... nothing... sales was still in so i went over there and met with my sales rep and complained... He said he will speak to whoever he has to speak to and get it fixed.

The next morning my sales rep calls me and tells me what service said... 1. the dent guy wasnt able to fix the dent cuz of the way it was dented.. tried and couldnt and just didnt want to deal with it anymore... 2. service was claiming that since it was a night drop, they are not responsible for anything that happens to the car on the lot since there is no one to check it in... But the manager in Sales stepped in and said that since they attempted to fix it, they assumed responsiblity, now they have to fix it... Ok so my sales rep had to go thru a couple of managers and that it was a bit of a "struggle" but they finally agreed to take the car back and fix it the right way this time... so we'll see how it goes... I have to bring the car back in two weeks....

Sorry to hear about your problem...I've brought my mini to the dealer several times about my leather seats. They have become very wrinkled and cracked and they refuse to fix them. I've called them about it too and they never call back

Yes, I'm sorry to hear about your hassles.

That was kind of confusing, Danbo. Do you still have a MINI, then?

Hi iancull,
I posted my rating in the dealership rating section.. The dealership is Habberstad in Huntington, NY (out in Long Island)...

Like i said before, the sales staff is wonderful and really helped me get this resolved... its the service center thats the problem...

I told my sales rep i had it with the service center, they make me want to go back to Saturn... the SC1 was my very first car ever.. i was only 21 and was turned down by other car dealerships for financing cuz i didnt have enough credit.. anyhow everything i didnt like about saturn cars, their customer service made up for it, its just like the commercial... they go above and beyond ... I mean i never had a problem with the car ever, its just i never liked the way it looked...

the service center in Habberstad is the WORSE ever!!! i am not sure if any of them there even have half of a brain. I have a run in with just about every service advisor besides Ron (nice guy but seems to know nothing too). Never call back, return trips for the same work, just amazing how lame they are.

This is also why i will not purchase my MCS through them! The service experience has been w/ my 02 M3.
