You would need a very small, very efficient sub to mount it under the seat. There's very little space under there.

I had amps mounted under the seats in my Cooper. I drove it year round and in the winter, and when I removed the amps, I noticed salt corrosion and rust on the amp chassis. So, the under-seat area is also not great in terms of avoiding salt and moisture if you are going to be driving in New England winters.

I'd guess the salt and water came in on my feet, not through the floor of the car. But it looks like it likes to hang out under the seats.

I have a sub box that is a pre-production model of a company that makes custom fit boxes for the Mini. It will take a low profile 12" sub, and has room for an amp. PM me if you're interested, I need to move this thing because it's taking up space in my room.

Do you have any pics? Im looking for something that keeps the rear floor clear for an amp rack. Thanks.

This is the company that makes the box I have, to give you a good idea- http://roadstersound.com/product_info/mini_cooper.htm

This box would fit into the rear floor, and be flush with the rear seats if they were folded down. I'll try and take some pics later, but I can't take pictures of the box in my car because my car is at the body shop.

Thanks, but I dont really want to cover my floor, this is kinda what Im working on (still needs to be smoothed, painted, and some other details), so Id really like to find some other options for subs. hopefully the pic went through.
