Navigation & Audio Call me crazy: Nutty stereo upgrade via dealer (w/pics!)
Thanks! Forgot to mention, PFMs are fully installed and working too!
The JCW Leather interior (dash & downtubes) is available with the following stitching colors:
Panther Black *
Chili Red *
Lapis Blue
Green
Gray
White
Yellow
Brown
Beige
* Only colors available directly via MINIUSA, because they cheaped out and didn't bother offering the others... other colors must be ordered from outside the USA, like I did for Lapis Blue.
Now, wouldn't the Gray one be close enough to silver to match your interior?

man, don't get me thinkin bout this again. $$$
lol

Keep in mind that the UK £ to US $ conversion rate directly affects the cost. Seems that NewMINIStuff has lowered the prices a little bit too - the downtubes are £8.50 ($16.35) cheaper and the dash is £17.62 ($33.88) cheaper than what I paid.
So, if you were to get exactly what I did (including lever gaiter & double cupholder trim rings... do you have the OEM armrest?), your grand total would be £481.64 ($926.19)... if you can still get a 5% discount (I think there's one via NAM now!), that drops further to £457.56 ($879.88).
Come on - for $879.88 (subject to exchange rate changes), you know you want it!

Note that if you don't have the OEM armrest, and therefore you have the "full size" rear cupholder, the JCW trim ring for that is just £25 ($48.08) more... or £23.75 ($45.67) after 5% discount.
Here's a breakdown of what I paid, as of October 2006 (from a post in the other thread):
Hmm... let's see:
Approximate conversion rate: £1 = US$1.923
JCW leather dash - £50 (US$96.15) deposit + £243.62 (US$468.48) balance on shipment = £293.62 (US$564.63) total
JCW leather downtubes - £30 (US$57.69) deposit + £84.89 (US$163.24) balance on shipment = £114.89 (US$220.93) total
JCW leather front cupholder ring - £34 (US$65.38)
JCW leather gear gaiter ring - £38.25 (US$73.55)
"Heavy postage" option for USA (required for JCW dash) - £27.00 (US$51.92)
GRAND TOTAL - £507.76 (US$976.42)
Although I also got a 5% MotoringFile discount, so it was actually £482.37 (US$927.60).
Obviously, this does not include the cost of installing it, which is either a few hours labor at your dealership, or DIY, if you're so inclined.
They say it takes 6 weeks from the date of order, it actually took 8 for me, but well worth the wait!
NOTE: There is also a JCW leather rear cupholder trim ring available, matching the front cupholder & lever gear gaiter ring. It's £25 (US$48.08). I would have gotten it too, but since I have the OEM armrest (for the Bluetooth package), I have a different (smaller) cupholder, and that ring wouldn't fit.

PFM's! Sweet, so you actually saw them in operation? That's an upgrade that I personally think is well worth the cost!!

I will be posting a whole new thread on "What you need to add OEM PFMs" soon, after I first verify one important detail... I just need to check one thing to ensure that there is no reason it won't work for any USA MINI...
I'll have more info either tomorrow night or Tuesday night... depending on when I make it back out there.
UPDATE: The Bluetooth is done (he figured out how to make it all fit with the DPSM), the headliner is reinstalled...
Tonight he is going to reinstall the dash and/or the carpet! It's all coming together... tomorrow night will probably be all of the side panels & trim (also swapping out the speaker grills for the non-HK ones), then there's not a whole lot more than the seats to go!
One last holdup will be the new windshield, and getting Diamon-Fusion re-treatment done, etc.
So no, the car won't be back this week, but almost definitely next week.

HAH. 9 months ahead of time is not just in time.
Umm...

Umm...
This is an incredible project and very instructive thread! I have nothing but admiration for Edge and his patience.
I hope the system is everything you hope it will be and more!
I've lusted after the DPSM for some time now, but the $ just ain't there.

Oh yeah, I forgot...
- Open wallet... REALLY REALLY wide.
- Empty it completely
- Enjoy every note and every nuance of the music as you try to forget how much it cost you.
