Garmin and MP3 player - What size fuse?
Hey all...
I'm getting a Garmin next week. I already have a iRiver MP3 player in the car, connected via a cig lighter adapter.
Since I'll now have 2 devices, I'm planning on using the tried-and-true Add-A-Circuit for power - I plan to use the Add-a-Circuit to connect up a dual cig-lighter adapter and then stash that in the side of the dash under the side cover. What I'm wondering is what size fuse should I use in the Add-a-Circuit?
Alternately, should I perhaps use the fuse that powers the cig lighters, since I know that that fuse has the needed power to drive the load?
EDIT: The cigatette lighter is on a 15A fuse, and the max the Add-a-Circuit will go to is 10A. 10 seems like a lot of juice... I guess the worst that would happen if I overload it is the fuse will pop...
