where do they sell a dash kit to install an aftermartket HU? what about a wiring harness? do you have to cut any factory wires to install one, or do they make a plug and play harness?

I haven't checked them out specifically for the H/K-equipped MINIs, but Crutchfield.com has a great selection of plug-in/no-cut wiring harnesses for head units and speakers, as well as mounting kits, spacers, and things like that. Their database is HUGE (not everything they have is listed online, so be sure to call if you can't find what you need on their site). Their prices usually aren't the lowest, but their support staff is great, they ship quickly, and they have a very liberal return policy.

I've been ordering from them for over 20 years, even though since I moved to Virginia, I have to pay sales taxes on my orders now.

looks good. i think im gonna order this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=320070283113

and im still deciding on a HU to get. i have a pioneer 880prs in my explorer, but that is silver, and would look out of place in the mini dash. so im thinkin maybe the pioneer 780 or an alpine that has amber colored buttons, etc.

the box is mdf and glass and is made in four sections. the screen being one. each sub has its own enclosure, two and three and the amps being four. all can be removed in under 15 minutes...or so.
the specs im completely drawing a blank on so, ill have to post that whenever i remember. the subs are jlw3s so, whatever space they needed is was they got.

glad you like it...thank you.

its made in sections. the tv is on stand and pulls right out. then the subs are in seperate enclosures and pull right out one at a time then the amps are below above the battery and pulls right out. its a pretty simple design really.

but, when i add a sub, i just dont feel that the mids/highs are loud enough for me. when i upgrade, i still want to get something that will maintain the SQ simlilar to the HK, but get a lot louder.
How about just adding a powered Bazooka tube by tapping into the factory HK wires. Should be pretty uninvasive, and if it sucks you can easily remove it and no harm will be done.
