Sick and tired of iPod issues
Its bad enough that I have to deal with Itunes ver. 7.01 issues but ever since the DgsBLX arrived my factory installed Ipod adaptor has played up.
Sometimes is recognizes the ipod , sometimes not. I have tried resets, all sorts of different disconnect procedures, I cleaned out my Ipod so only a few songs were on it , I have spoken nicely to it and even harshly. Checked the connections and tried all five Ipods we have in the house from my dinosaur to my kids brand new video Ipod. Same issues !
I don't know if its anything to do with the HK unit but my guess is when teh dgsblx is in for service next week the bloody thing will work fine.
I am at the point where the Ipod is going in the lake and i will get a creative zen plugged in to the aux input
Any ideas I need serious counselling on this problem.
thanks

The ipod adapter is a dealer, not factory, installed part.
You say you've checked all the connections - do you mean all the visible ones, or the ones behind the dash?
A local guy had the same issue and we just pulled everything out and re-seated the round connection from the stereo to the adapter 'box' and it has worked fine ever since.
Good luck!
Having installed the OEM adapter myself, I remember one or two connections that required soldering straight into one of the harnesses. It is quite possible that one of those connections were "cold soldered" by the dealer and no longer are making reliable contact. They should be resoldered before you deep six the iPod. Have the dealer print out the adapter insatallation instructions for you so that you can look into this (or just let them do it if its under warranty).
I have a Blitzsafe iPod adapter in my MINI and also in my daughter's Camry. Both work flawlessly. Might be worth a look.
