OK, I know a lot of you have gheard me complain about the extreme bass/boominess of the HK system at highway speed. But now I've come to like it when I have the windows down and moon roof open...I can hear nearly all of the frequencies in the music.

The bass isn't the problem. You can just turn down the bass. The problem is the fact that the passenger side lower speaker makes bad vibrations sometimes even when you have bass turned down and frankly pisses me off. The other side doesn't do it, so i am hoping this is not a normal thing and that it can be fixed. ARG!

I've heard this in my MCS just after I picked it up. After much more troubleshooting, I think it is a road vibration induced vibration of the glove compartment. I can turn off the stereo and hear the same sound which sounds like a speaker cone going bad, but really is something in/near the glovebox.

The car needs to be moving for the rattle to show up. The moment you hear the stereo make that sound, turn it off and keep driving. If you don't hear it at first, try turning the stereo back on, wait for it to rattle again and then turn it off.

Had this problem too, except that mine was on the driver's side. Brought the car in for service and they basically just opened up the door panel and found a loose screw on one of the speakers. They tighetened it and no prob and no boominess or rattle since.
