I had my head unit replaced and it was replaced with a newer Head Unit (no jokes please!!!!)

it will now play MP3 CD's. and so far has played EVERYthing I toss at it.. (it doesnt support ID tags) but it lists the track and the "subtrack"..

but on ONE single CD.. it keeps skipping certain "subtrack" within the SAME track.. (thought I burned the wrong album.. so I re-did it.. same issue in same place!!!)

(for those who are interested.. it's the extended 2 disk version of the Phantom of the Opera Soundtrack... instead of playing the 14 tracks.. it only plays about 10-11 of them.. (this is disk 1.. disk 2 and all others are fine!!).. what.. the MINI head unit doesnt like Emmy Rossum or Gerard Butler?? (actually.. it plays his songs fine!!!))

Most cars this is called a Germlin, but have you considered that you may have a phantom in your car?

 

I would check the track naming. perhaps there is a cutoff as to how many letters can be in the file name. try putting an 01, 02, etc in front of the track name and maybe that will help. my thought is that if there is a cutoff in letters it may see a few similar tracks as the same one. Either that or there could be an error in the mp3 file. try ripping again if the first solution doesn't work.

the tracks already have 01, 02 etc.. infront of them (talked to Miniusa/BMW today.. they acknowledge it doesnt read ID3 tags.. but should handle folders and files fine.. and doesnt have a limit

the titles are actually shorter than some that do play... and again.. it's JUST that album.. weird eh?? might try re-ripping or buring with a different software... making sure it's finished
