RCA jacks on factory stereo?

I would like to add an amp to my factory head unit. It is non HK. I have installed the Blitzsafe XM direct adpator and it works well. Just need a little more volume with the top down! If so anybody got any experience with amp models and or placement? Also trying to figure out how to access the back of the headunit without tearing things up. Any help appreciated!

There are not RCA Line level outputs on the back of the stock headunit. There are speaker level to line level converters that work fairly well but can sometimes produce a subtle hiss compared to a true line level output.

It should be possible to fine a true preamp level signal within the radio and mod the radio to have RCA outputs. A friend and myself are about to put in an aftermarket Alpine headunit in my MINI and then begin researching the insides of the stock radio to see how possible adding RCA outputs is.

I'll post more as we get the project going.

Regards-
