Sirius/iPod - upgrade questions

Last month I purchased a new 06 MCSa with the standard stereo system. I am interested in upgrading to Sirius and also getting and iPod adapter (for an older 30gb b/w iPod). I HATED my experience with Nick Alexander in Los Angeles (yes, I went there after being warned here to avoid them but they were the only place that could find the car I wanted...) and I do not want to give them one more cent. I'm hoping someone can direct me to a link or let me know the best way to purchase (ideally with official Mini accessories) and install these upgrades for the most cost-effective price. Does it need to be installed by Mini for the warranty to stay in effect? I seem to recall reading something in the paperwork that if these things aren't install by a Mini dealer they may void part of the warranty (or did I dream this??).

Hoping someone will help a newbie without audio/technical experience!

Thank you.

If you read about it and look at the video it looks like an easy install.

Neo ion

Has any one used this one??

If you go with the Dension IceLink+ or the MonsterCable iCruze, you can use an iPod in addition to the Sirius with everything controlled via the headunit and MFSW controls. You'll need to use the connection in the boot however. The OEM Sirius tuner has a pass-thru connection for a CD-changer, and by using BMW cable #84110150532 (~$10), you can use one of these two iPod interfaces.
