Correct Dest. Guidance Not Possible

Brand new MCS cabrio and my factory Nav system displays "Correct Dest. Guidance Not Possible" anybody got a clue of what's going on. I read in a older thread that if you delete the house number this might go away, but it has not.

That just means that whereever you're at is 'not on a digitized road'. Mine usually tells me that phrase, with the text "Correct Dest. Guidance Not Possible". Drive someplace else (usually not far) and all will be well. I had that happen to me several times on small side streets during my cross country trip home.

that is exactly right... you are not on a digitized map. I contacted the manufacturer of the navigation cd and they offered to sell me a 2006 version for $180.00 dollars but could not guarantee my home would be be on it, because i live in rural Missouri. Go figure

Not be be facetious, but are you still in the garage? I only ask because if you do not get a sufficient satellite lock (upper right-hand corner depicts the satellites), you cannot get guidance.

That is an oversimplified statement. There is a more thorough explanantion, but I don't have time to type out the exceptions, etc. ....and if you're not in the garage without satellites, then it is a moot point anyhow.

This happens on my nav. system too. Like someone already said, it means you are not on a "digitized road." This means that the town and/or road you are in is not as detailed in the system. I live in Columbia, MO. There are some places around here that tell me that. However, when you are in a bigger city, it will never show up. The weird thing is that the screen will still tell you what street you are on and all (if you have it set on the split screen setting). When that message is displayed, the system will not talk to you to guide you to your destination.

I wish I had a garage, mine is now a TV room.

Like the previous post said. My screen shows the street I'm on, it tracks me as I move around my neighborhood. It work fine in the same neighborhood the first three days, but now it won't.

So far my wife's Magellan Roadmate 760 blows away mine.
Although I like that mine is built in.

Hopefully this is a glitch. I can't see my whole town not being on the map. It's a decent size town.

Seems very strange that it was working now is not. I've never had that one myself, but perhaps try rebooting or checking the manual (if you haven't) for troubleshooting? Worse comes to worse check with the dealer, I can't see why something that worked fine should stop working correctly for any reason...

Went for a short drive today, it seems my nav. works about 1/2 mile away from my house, but not once I turn of the main road into my neighborhood.
I'm thinking this did not happen the first 3 days, but I've been so excited about driving my mini, I could be wrong about that. I'm gonna call the dealer on Monday and inquire about it anyway.

It does seem strange that you see the road you're on in the map, but it's not digitized - but that's how it works. Likely it's always been that way and you just noticed it. You can contact Navteq, and they can at least flag it for their next release.

One thing you might want to play with is set your location when you are at your house and save it to the address book. Perhaps that way it will direct you to your home even if the proper street address is not in the maps (I think I even used this method once).

If you are getting that message when setting it at your house to go elsewhere does it go away when you get to a main street then give you directions?
