issues with new nav software

Howdy

Who else here has installed the newest version of the NAV software?
If you have the "new arrow" for the car icon, you are one of these people (probably.)

anyway, are you experiencing much more "error"? Perhaps the way the display updates makes it more noticable, but i have found that i "lose signal" much much more often now.
it is either:
1) always been this bad, and since the screen movement is more dramatic with this update, more noticable now
2) the software made the gps work worse.

Basically, i'll be driving along, and my map will freeze, as if i am not moving, for up to a minute! even dead reconing doesn't cause the car go to. This can be at highway speeds!
The GPS signal icon is on and green the whole time this is happening, on both sunny/clear and cloudy days.

After some time, it will snap back into place.
This does effect my trips, as the gps now frequently gives me the wrong instructions, thinking i am on the wrong roads.

I know the gvt throws the sats off slightly for "security reasons", or whatever. Are they simply doing this more? Is the newest software less capable of dealing with this?
what's your experience?

I don't have that particular issue, but in the mountains where I drive, on one road I am repeatedly 'off road', parallel to my path, but off it the woods, until I zoom in closer (<1mile?) This did not happen with the previous version.

FWIW, I don't think the military still alters the location data - thought they did away with that years ago.

Sorry, but it sounds like you have a problem - after installing the new software our nav has been the same (fine). For a very short time it seemed to be a bit slow (ie indicating a turn a few feet past it) but then fixed itself.

I don't know what year you have but I vaguely recall a TSB about the nav, you may want to check Alldata.com or just take it in.

Best of luck

Well there's your problem. That would be a prototype concept car!

I installed v26 software on my 2006 MCC, and the positioning performance was unchanged. I have not seen the freeze or lag that you describe.
