Icelink compatibility?

I just sold my E46 M3 and pulled out the head unit Icelink first. I am hoping it will work on my MINI, anyone know for sure? Stuffing all the wiring back into the dash behind the head unit on the M3 was touchy, is the MINI any easier? thanks.

All the E46 BMW's with business radio I have seen in the UK have had he round pin connector. (presume USA is he same)
The USA Mini has flat pin connector.
Good news is that you can buy just the loom to save buying a complete new icelink

I was afraid of that. Do you remove the old loom first? or do you end up with even more wiring to stuff back in the hole?

Remove the old loom, so you just have the icelink board & dock connector or cradle

Old loom connects to new loom and the ice link connection branches off from there (this is to allow power and other connections that a CD changer would not require).

I found that removing the plastic bit that the wiring is taped to allowed me to tuck the wiring away more easily (the nub holding the plastic bit in place simply unscrews, you don't have to untape the wires).

I called Dension USA yesterday and ordered the new loom for $29. I paid a buddy to install the Icelink in my M3, but after removing it myself and seeing how simple it was, I'll trying doing the MINI myself. My only worry is if there's room for all that extra wiring, I remember the BMW being an extremely tight fit.
