02 Satellite

Just got my Satellite radio in my 02 MCS without having to pay a massive fee OR having to use a seperate receiver. And it's XM as well! Here's what I did.

1) Bought an 03 OEM deck and replaced my existing 02 deck.

2) Purchased the XM Direct package from Blitzsafe.

3) Installed the XM Direct and Blitzsafe adapter to the cd changer cables in the rear right panel of the Mini.

That's all it took. Works perfectly. You can control the channels and the volume from the steering wheel and also you can get the track info on the display of the stereo! Only caveat is that the display is limited in the amount of characters it can hold. Also, since there is not third party unit, there is no buffer to speak of. However, I am having little to no problem with skipping in the signal even going under bridges. Just thought I'd pass this along to all my fellow '02 owners who thought we were out of luck!
