Icelink Plus in 06

Has anyone installed the Icelink Plus in an 06 yet? I have the H/K and Nav and was wondering if it worked. I have a ticket open with Denison right now but figured I would check here as well.

Given that the changes we've heard about on the '06s are minor I'm guessing you have a 90% shot of it working without a problem...

The least invasive way of testing this is to get the version of the ICELink that connects to the CD Changer connection in the boot. The only thing that you would need to do just to test it is remove side panel in the boot and plug in the connector. If it works, then you'd have to run the cable, but if it doesn't you would just unplug and pop the panel back in...

In the US this is as easy as running to Best Buy and picking up the kit that they sell... But being in Germany you've added a degree of difficulty, I'm not sure where you'd find the kit there...

The other person to check with other than Dension is Mike over at Newministuff.com, he's in the UK and does A LOT of electrical work on the MINI...

FWIW, our 05 is one of the last 05's off the line...and the Ice Link Plus works very well. Had to do the ground wire mod, but after that, golden.

THis is the one the plugs in to the CD wires in the boot.

I installed the radio version in my 06 and it works great! ID3 Tags displayed on the HU. However, I don't have Nav or H/K in my car. All plug and play. The hardest part was taking the dash apart.

I'll give him a yell, thanks.

As for the rest, thank you for updating me. I'm just concerned because I was told by MINI that the IPOD adapter they sell for the 05 won't work in the 06. So, I wanted to make sure before I ordered it.

OK, I decided to call them and they told me that the Icelink plus would work in the 06. However, he told me to go with the trunk mount rather than the radio as they have not tested it yet.

So, I ordered it and hopefully it will get here soon.
