Navigation & Audio Basslink Position
Basslink Position
Im thinking about installing an Infinity Basslink.
I searched the threads and noted that most people are doing the side
firing setup to save trunk space. I don't use my MCS other than for fun
so planning to position the speakers facing upwards.
Has anyone tried this setup and compared it with the side firing
setup to see whether it sounded better or not?
Also for signal input for the Basslink, are most people just picking up
the speaker-level signal from the rear speakers?
Thanks.

best bet for signal is use the back speakers, just pick one of the sides of each rear speaker and use it.
i believe they are labled 1 and 2 on each speaker, so use either 1 or 2 from L and 1 or 2 from R

after trying both positions, i went with upwards firing setup.
I need to tune it a little more and replace my front speakers.
I like this setup. picts later, my camera's battery was dead.

nice. I had to tap into my rear speakers.
I just got done doing the 5.25" front coax Polks. man, sounds 10x better
now. will post picts later.
I used the factory speaker as my spacer...
anyway, took picts so will
post later on.

nothing really exciting, but it sure sounds good.
i have my air compressor, fix-a-flat, detailer spray, jack, towels,
under the pink beach towel. it asks as my acoustic dampner to
minimize vibration. also just a good thing to have just in case i
need to carry plants or something.
i still have access to the left pocket. I also hooked up a plug
for the power source so I can charge my battery without lifting
the floor. i ran the gain control and mounted it over the parcel
tray on the right side. forgot to take pict of that one....

baselink location
How much higher is the baselink than the back of the seats when folded down?

use the boot for anything too. I did not need to bolt down into the
chassis with the horizontal setup... just tied it down to the floor.
I did some fast turns, etc but its rock solid.
