?? about MINI's SIRIUS radio setup

A couple of questions for those who have the MINI Sirius radio tuner and antenna:

1) What are the dimensions (H x W x D) of the tuner box that goes in the boot cubby?

2) How long is the satellite radio antenna lead?

So, how'd the installation go?

16" doesn't seem like much length; what path does it take and where does it terminate?

Er... um... well... tearing apart the entire boot (removing many panels) turned out to be a greater (time) challenge than I had the patience or light for last night. So a couple hours in good daylight should do the trick today. I'll post an update when it's done.

If all goes well, I'll be rockin' to commercial-free tunes by the afternoon!

When I said the antenna was 16" I meant the replacement antenna that attaches to the new base mounted on the roof. If you're referring to any kind of wiring as an antenna, someone else will have to chime in - I'm electronically uneducated and will just be following the instructions word-by-word. It seems to me that everything else is pre-wired and you just have to replace the base/antenna and mount the receiver and plug everything in.

I'm trying to find out how long the cable is that runs from the antenna on the roof to the spot where the Sirius tuner is located in the boot. My car is an '04, so I'm pretty sure the Sirius antenna cable has to be added. That may not be the case for '05 models.

I didn't measure the cable (it came attached to my replacement base), but it is significantly long. Sorry, I was so frustrated with just getting this install done that I didn't think to measure it for you.

The install of the actual receiver was nothing, but removing all the boot panels and crap to get to the underside of the roof/antenna to replace the base was a nightmare! I would NOT do it again. After 3+ hours just trying to get to it, I could see how a $300 install would be worth it!

No problem. I've currently got a plug and play radio and I'm looking at my options for a more integrated solution. Can't decide whether to go with the MINI headunit and their Sirius tuner or switch to an Alpine headunit with the SIR-ALP1 tuner. Either way, I plan on using the MINI Sirius antenna.
