Good news for USA Alpine fans

They have finally put a MFSW interface socket on some of their stereos.

These are, 9855, 9853, 9851.

Yeah but...you still need the PAC-SWI deal...the 51,53,&,55 just don't need a line-of-sight ifra-red sensor like the 9847 requires. That's the way I understand it as Alpine Cust Svc explained it to me yesterday.

Mikethemini says his mfsw interfaces for the Alpine 9851-53-55 are plug & play and require no splicing. He has them listed for Alpine and other brands at www.newministuff.com

Alpine Site

goto www.Alpine-usa.com. Click:
Products
Product Models
Head units and changers
Head Units
MP3 Players

goto the 9851,53,or55 and under features, you will see"OEM Steering Remote Ready."
Click on the lower # models like the 9847 and you will not see that feature listed. BTW, @32 British lbs, which = about $60 US $$$, his interfaces are a bargain beacuse they run around 70 from Crutch and you still have to cut and splice...according to Mikey, with his interface, you do not.

As long as we're on the subject, DOES ANYONE KNOW IF PIONEER STUFF INTERFACES IN ANY WAY WITH THE MFSW? I'm interested in Pioneer because I've heard their FM and AM reception are superior to anyone elses'. We live in a fringe reception area between two major markets, NY & Phila, so sometimes, some stations just don't come in like they are able to on my other cars.

The UK adaptorsen in ISO plugs for the new radio end,
Many USA stereos just come with bare wires, so would require joining, but the mini end of the adaptors is plug & play
As you can see from my list above, many pioneers are mfsw ready. For those that arn't, a Infra Red version is available for pioneers that are IR remote ready

Alpine 55

I have done this exact install with a 55 and it works great.
You can program the 6 buttons on MFSW to match 6 controls from the HU remote. It will also control XM Radio
