Help - installing and understanding Mini sound systems

Hey everyone! I'm new to the Audio market but I have an idea of what kind of sound I want for my Cooper. I'm looking for clear music with deep bass but not Super loud.

I've been talking to my dad and dealer about adding a sound system and Mini doesn't recommend it but my dad is all up for it. He said I need an amplifier, subwoofer and speakers which is understandable. I get lost when it comes to power, wiring, what to replace, new stero heads and installing the sub.

I don't really use my trunk but I don't want to completely iliminate it with a huge sub, haha. I saw a few hidden subs but I'm not sure where to find them or how much they cost. Speakers my dad can find but which speakers do you guy reccomend for a good price.

- How many speakers have to be replaced? -

If anyone could help me figure out a good system for my car that would be a lot of help. I would like bass that could be heard outside the car but not bass that can be heard down the block.

I attached a pic of a good looking Sub.

What you have at the top there is a JL Audio stealth box, roughly $450 sub included. You would still need the amp, but not bad, plus it's nice and hidden.
