Best install route for icelink from boot

I just bught the icelink plus w/ the boot connector because I want to place the iPod in my armrest. Does anyone have an install route for the cable from the access panel in the boot to the front of the cockpit? Did you have to cut the panel cover to get the cable into the boot, etc?
Any advice/hints/install pics/appreciated.

I don't know the best install route from the rear panel, but it would probably be easier to get underneath the carpeting around the transmission if you used the aux input at the head unit instead
