Hi everyone. I have a 2019 Countryman with iconic trim which includes remote services. Up until this week I was able to lock and unlock and check vehicle status and turn on the climate remotely using the app. Suddenly my app says that my vehicle doesn’t support these services. My car just turned 3 so I assumed that I would need to subscribe. I called Mini support who said I needed a subscription and I needed to call the dealer. They haven’t gotten back to me. This am on my way home from work I called Mini Concierge from the car. They told me that my car doesn’t have remote services (it does tho!). Then they said that remote services is no longer available for my car and that remote services stops working after 3 years (which doesn’t make a lick of sense to me since it’s has had this since I purchased!). And then they said that there was a software update and my car wasn’t included and I can’t update the software. Nobody seems to have the same answer (and definitely not the one I want lol!)
incidentally I have friends with the same make model and trim lines who are not having issues.
also- when I go to MyGarage DASHBOARD on Mini USA that site has been down forever (when I searched for how to subscribe to remote services for BMW it gave instructions to do to MyGarage.BMWUSA.con so I thought I would try that.)
Does anyone have any experience with this or know a number I can call that can actually help?
I realize this is a tiny problem in the grand scheme of the world today but i really liked being able to lock and unlock my car and turn on the a/c remotely esp with summer coming up (and esp since I paid for this feature when I purchased the car.
Thanks! My model isn’t listed on the website but when I look it up by VIN Remote Services is listed. I need an routine maintenance so I will address it with the dealer. Oh and also I can view My Vehicles on the MyGarage website but not my Dashboard
. It flashes briefly and I can even see “Hello Christine!” Before the error message comes up. So frustrating.
On a whim ibchecked the app and My remote services are working now. There are more services available than before (horn honk and lights) so i wonder if it was an update or something.
The Electronic Subscriber Agreement is initially active for the first 4 years. After that, it’s a subscription-based service. At this time, however, MINI doesn’t have the Connected packages sorted out yet, so it seems everyone with a 2019 (which started with March 2018 production) is losing services…or at least everyone with an early 2019 I’ve talked to. I’m told that MINI is extending affected Connected cars to 12/31/2022 and will offer paid packages after that, presumably like the ones that BMW offers for its cars. My services were off for a couple weeks while my dealer tried to sort it out with MINI USA. Once they did, everything started working again as expected and has been fine since.
