So, on MINI2.com they have a list in their FAQ about what hte convenience features are (I may be using the wrong terminology, MINI2 uses the words "Memory Options"). These are things that can be programmed by the dealer to include:
opening all windows with hold-down of unlock on keyfob
Daytime running lights
lock doors when driving
etc.

So I take INDI in and tell them I want all the doors to unlock with the 1st press of the unlock button on the key, not just the driver's door. Currently to get all doors unlocked I have to press Unlock twice (driver's door, then rest of doors - i hate it). they tell me they can't do that. I'm sure I had it that way when I got the car in 2002 (of course, that was almost 8 years ago I could be wrong). I called 866-ask-MINI and he couldn't confirm or deny that it's available based on whatever info he could find and suggested I contact another dealer. SO, I'm putting it out to the crowd.

Anyone know how to program a May 2002 build R50 to unlock ALL doors with ONE press of the unlock button on the key? Please help.

 

pretty sure that is going to have to be programmed at the dealership. We had a handheld pad/laptop looking machine to program the cars back in 02 when I worked for MINI and did this quite often.

 

I know. I was at the dealership and they told me they couldn't do it. I'm trying to find out how to tell them to do it. I wonder if their newer software doesn't do that? It drives me nuts. Is there a special code they need to do that?

 

My '06 unlocks everything (both doors, and boot) with one click. It wasn't the default setting and I had the dealer set it after I took the car. I know that some programmable options have come and gone and come back over time (such as remote opening of the convertible top). It's possible that MINI took away the setting but I don't see why they would for this one.

 

It's amazing. After all these years, Mini dealers still can't program common "convenience" features.

Call MiniUSA and complain about your dealer's ineptness.

 

Still no answer to this question? I've been trying to get our '06 Cooper S reset to unlock all doors with one click as well. We had it set this way for a few years, but somehow it went away a year or so ago (had some other problems with the driver window opening when they shouldn't). After that repair neither the dealer nor our local BMW/Mini shop can reprogram things to open ALL doors with one click on the remote. The both claim it is not an option to them. HELP!!!!

 

It can be done by NCExpert(s) who can reprogram the features....search NAM for NCExpert. Perhaps there is one near your location who can do this for ya.....

First thing I have done is:
One click sunroof open and close
all windows open AND close with fab key (holding down open or close)
close driver/passanger side windows even when door opens
all doors unlock when fab is removed
and few other things for convenience....

you can turn it on in NCSExpert on an 06 MCS.. I have done it myself on my R53. The problem is, the 'easy entry' option gets activated and then if you press unlock twice the window rolls down when you open the door.
