2005 MFSW Extra Buttons

Please tell me if you have the two extra buttons on your new MFSW...
If so, what model do you have and what date was it built?

If they are going to be avilable in the USA at all, they will start appearing on the January 2005 and later builds. Thus, you won't see any here until folks start seeing the 01/05 built cars come in.

BTW, the extra buttons are for use with the Bluetooth phone kits I believe (one is a R/T button and the other is a Phone button).

I too want those buttons. I have an '05 MCS that finished construction on September 16, and of course don't have them on my MFSW. I anxiously awaiting a better Bluetooth kit than what is currently offered in the states, but since MINI is displaying the crappy kit currently available here at the Detroit show, I'm not confident we'll see the newer kit here any time soon. MotoringFile covered the newer kit back in November, http://www.motoringfile.com/2004/11/...on_and_armrest

I have just ordered the Nokia ck-7w bluetooth kit (which I saw in a MINI at the CES show) along with the bits and pieces from one of our members across the pond to allow it to play right through the speakers in the car (that part was expensive).

I'll keep everyone posted on that one.

Will do.. The kit should be here by the end of the week and I should have it installed within hours of receiving it, not that I am impatient or anything!

I saw someone post this over on MotoringFile:
I noticed a few subtle things too. First was the new windshield washer fluid light- all of the 10/04 builds at the show had that addition (which I wish I had on my 2004). The second was the addition of two "phone" buttons on the MFSW that I had never seen before. Apparently the R/T and phone symbol buttons are now on the wheel to the right of the audio controls. And the corresponding bluetooth fob on the down post looks smaller, but still awkward. And the answer is that yes the wheel with the extra buttons is retrofittable (at least according to the MINI rep at the show) and he said it would be about $400 w/o labor...
So maybe the new steering wheel will be on the 1/05 builds. $400 seems pricey for two extra buttons, but I've never had bluetooth in a car. Maybe the convience is worth it.
