Quick question relating to XM
I want XM in my Cooper. I know I don't even have the car yet, but i'm planning ahead.
I've read through most of the other posts relating to the XM Direct method, but there is so much info being thrown around, that i'm still confused.
I will have a 2005 MC with the base stereo and no-NAV.
From what I understand, I need the Terk XM Direct Universal Tuner Box (XMD 1000). I've seen those at Best Buy/Circuit City/etc. for about $50...no biggie.
Now this Blitzsafe thing is what's confusing me. For an 05 MC, I believe I need the Blitzsafe MINI/SLD 01. For anyone who has done this, is that still true? I know they've changed the name of the unit already, and I want to make sure it's correct.
Also, where can I find this thing. I looked on Crutchfield but they don't seem to carry it. I have found it for close to $200 on some electronics websites that I've never heard of before. Does any reputable company sell these things? If so, who, and what do they sell them for?
Just getting the right parts is 10x the hassle of the actual installation.....lol
Thanks again

Kyle,
Here's where I got everything needed:
XM unit, Circuit City, Cat No: TRK XMD 1000, $49.99
BlitzSafe unit, Enfig, Cat No: BMW-Mini XM SLD01, $150.00
www.enfig.com
Hope this helps! BTW, Enfig was great to work with, shipped the unit same day as ordered, arrived 2 days later.

I ordered it right from blitzsafe. They gave all the members of NAM a discount if you provide your screen name. Still about the same price but you will for sure get the right part. Install takes 5 min but when you activate you have to leave your radio on for up to 2 hrs. Don't try to activate your radio if you have to go somewhere and have to turn off and lock your car. Song name and artist will display but not scroll. Long song names will be cut off.

There was a $10.00 price difference in these two on Logjamelectronics.comHere a link to Log Jam. Call them, they are helpful. They also sell both Blitzsafe and Soundgate products.
