Hey Guys!

Started my new audio project this morning; got the back interior completely removed, the amp is disconnected and out. Got the new rear speakers installed and new wiring run. I’ve been reading multiple threads regarding possible locations for the old H/K amp. I have a 2006 S R53 and know the location of the amp is in the back right side quarter panel. I think in the convertible, the amp is located under the passenger seat? Is this correct? And, is the recess designed ONLY in the convertible or is that built into all the 1st Gen Coopers?

I haven’t pulled the front interior pieces yet, as I wanted to get an idea of whether or not this recess does exist in the R53 from anyone who has already “been there”

The other option is a fabricated mounting bracket for my new Kenwood amp in the original location.
