Navigation & Audio NAV system installed in MINI without one?
Technically, yes. But woah! You'd have to change out the antenae, install the "brains", remove/relocate the speedo, and replace the rear passenger window with a nav window that has the wire lined glass for stereo reception. I'm sure I'm mising more, but that in of itself sounds like a load. Why not just get an aftermarket one, like with the popup faceplate that Alpine does? Would most likely be the same cost when all is said and done, but would be DVD based and have better quality maps.

I am getting the Garmin Streetpilot III instead of the Nav system. It costs much less, might be better, and can be moved between vehicles.

OK, I decided not to get the NAV because if I did I might have to wait for many more months before the DVD nav system became available. So maybe when the AWD MINI comes out, then I'll get the NAV system.

Katiedidmini, GPSCity carry the Street Pilot III, make sure to ask for the DELUXE model it include all the street maps for the entire US. It used to go for $789.00. Good luck!!
