Thanks Scudder. I shall try that. But I'll need to figure out the LVDS-In and LVDS-Out. The LVDS-Out looks like it goes from the module to the original head unit. Not sure where the LVDS-In is feeding from. Will need to follow the cables when I take it apart again.

I add this to the mix of units available. Seller claims the oil level works, see video. I have no idea if it truly does.

On further review, it really doesn't look like it is meant for the USA market.

I'm still going back and forth with the seller about the TPMS. It looks like the unit is looking for RPA data instead of what the bus is sending. I can't get the seller to understand this. I think I got into the engineer menu by typing 12345678, but it was all in Chinese and I had a panic attack and rebooted before I really screwed something up.

I finally received my unit on Friday and I had my friend do the dirty work for me. First impression, there's a learning curve, as with any system. TPMS system reads does not work. I've contacted the seller with the following issues.
1) TPMS will show resetting but after resetting and driven for about 10 minutes, still not showing any reading. So far they answered this question. The seller said if shows nothing, that means it's ok. If there's a problem, it will tell you. 🤔
2) I can't seem to change the units nor I don't seen the option to change it to Miles/Gallon. This is most likely done via the engineering menu.
3) The main screen keeps on displaying the temperature in Celcius even after I changed the settings to show farenheit. The cluster however shows farenheit.
4) There is this Canbus Info section that has two buttons. "Upgrade" and " Restart". I'm afraid to select eithe .
5) I have a warning icon in my cluster. There seems to be no way to see these warning messages anymore like the stick one. In vehicle status, shows everything is ok.

I performed the oil check. It sounds like it goes through the motion. It come back saying oil level ok but the oil level indicator does not reflect the true level. I know that because I just performed an oil level check about 5 days ago.

GPS signal works fine. Radio sounded ok but signal is rather weak. As for the built in sample songs and Peking duck video, I want to delete them.

I called my cousin to test out the phone. I can hear him well but he said he hears everything very loud. As in, he can hesr the road noise. His example was, it sounds like I'm talking to him with my windows open while I'm driving. It made it very hard for him to understand what I was saying.

I've contacted the vendor. They told me for tpms, I have to install my original system on, reset system then put new one on. I told them I reset the system prior to install and still not working.
As for the units for miles per gallon or farenheit, one person told me they will send me a video on how to do it and then the next person tells me it's not possible.

I think they stall you with bad info until you give up or pass return point.

Same here for the TPMS. I did it just to see if it would work. Of course not. On mine there is (RPA) after the Tire pressure monitor text on the screen. That's the old system that runs off the ABS.
You can change the Temp and MPG with another launcher, but then you loose access to all the car info.
I think Minnie the Moocher is right, they just seem to keep BSing you and acting like it's something you're doing wrong.
LiandLee just told me today that the 4G only works with a Unicom sim. Guess where you can use them? Right-China.
I probably wasn't going to use it anyway, but they are promoting it as a feature and it won't work. I even asked them specifically about it.
I think i"ll file a dispute with Aliexpress just because of the omissions of truth.

Do you think we can file a dispute and get maybe partial refund? It'll be a PITA to remove the unit and reinstall everything. Especially I had someone doing the job for me.

It's worth a try. I don't think the seller wants it back anyway. I can imagine trying to ship it back to China would be a real headache.

I throw this into the mix, wondering if it would work.

The seller writes to me and said I'm trying to create functions. I responded whatever I've mentioned that doesn't work, it's the original functions.
So I just went to Alibaba and requested a partial refund to be fair. I know it will be a pita to uninstall the entire thing, reinstalled original, mail back unit back to China. I'll take a hit and keep it if they agree. I've asked for 50% refund. Let's see...

I'm in the process of a dispute. It's looking like Alibaba is leaning towards the seller's side. Saying things like, functions are not going to work if they didnt work in your car originally. I sent screenshots of the unit and screenshots of me asking the seller before I made the purchase.
The seller is still working with me on the TPMS issue but I'm not willing to remove their unit and reinstall the original just to do a TPMS reset and reinstall their unit back. I told them I had someone do the install for me and it would cost me more than another unit just to do swaps like that.
They're claiming the unit supports TPMS readings, and that I did something wrong on the install. I only asked for $200 back, not the entire amount.
Anyone got the Easy Connection app to work? I tried to connect but the unit displayed a message like the software was not legal. So I deleted it and reinstalled. Now I plug my phone in, the prompt to connect no longer shows up. So km stuck at there for now.

Did you ask them what frequency TPMS is supported? If you want to spend a few bucks why not head over to a quality tire shop and see if they will perform a TPMS reset. They usually have a device to do so. Unless you have or know somebody with a Schwaben/Foxwell scanner or similar.

Which seller did you deal with? Might as well give them the negative publicity they seek.

I can ask them about frequency. I'm dealing with Up ShenZhen. I mean, they do have a good feedback history.

I'm still happy with the unit but ultimately we were mislead as some of the features don't work. I'm also applying for a partial refund hopefully they fix the issue.

I also put in a backup camera which works great and makes the whole thing well worth the trouble.

The seller wants me to reinstall the old unit, reset the tpms, then install their unit back on. They are blaming bad installation for the tpms not to work. They are just full of it imo.

Seicane Head Unit

I've recently installed the Seicane unit on my 2013 R58 coupe. Carplay works well enough, though I'm still working through an issue with Seicane re radio reception (like almost none). Still a work in progress. I'll post a full review once this has been resolved.

Curious what others features aren't working?
& Have you had a second pair of eyes look at the unit for the TPMS issue?

Also, seeing how these OEM style android units don't seem to be worth while as they are missing features and TPMS readings, are there any other Headunits worth checking out?

I switched from run flats to non run flats today. As I was driving, the cluster gave me a inflate tire warning. I checked on the center console and lord and behold, I saw 3 wheels with a check next to it and 1 wheel with an exclamation mark. I think to myself, wait, this is working?
I checked the air pressure and all 4 tires had different pressure. The one with the warning was at 28 while the others are 38, 32, 30. Long story short, valve stems ate leaking air. But the tpms kinda worked on this crappy unit.
I went home and even out all 4 tires to 39. Checked the tpms screen, not working anymore.
Is our crappy unit set for a psi much lower than it should? I have no idea but this might be a clue to something. Thoughts?

The TPMS is supposed to trigger at 25% loss of PSI from Normal programmed value. So if it is supposed to be 38 psi for example then 28 psi would be just in the range to turn the warning on. Seems like the system works for triggering the alert but not as a continual monitoring device?

You really shouldn't be setting fronts & rears at 39 on your car. Offhand I don't remember the psi for the 4 dr, but front and rears are 3psi different?

I was just going by the sticker on the driver side door. What do you recommend for non run flat on the 4dr?

I only remember the non S 4 Dr which was 36 f and 33 rear. The sticker on the door frame shows?
