Navigation & Audio Anyone order the IceLink Plus yet?
Aux input
I had my aux input installed under the toggle switches, not in the glovebox. I use a ProClip mount for the iPod which puts it right at my fingertips. Dension is no closer to IDtags now than it was in December. This set up works great for me. As for the constant charging of the iPod with the other units, this constant short charging can wear out the battery much faster. I have a Belkin car charger in the car if I need it. Anyway, this works for me. The IceLink did not. Good luck to all!
Still no song titles, and I wouldn't hold my breath for them either. But I still think that this is a great product, I installed it late last week and have had zero problems with it, I totally love it!
I would think there would have to be a way to display text on this head unit, if radio stations can do it, can't they just find out how they are sending the text to the radio? But even if they could figure out how to do it like the radio stations, I'm not sure how useful it would be, only seeing very few characters at a time. They need to come out with some sort of display, multi-line, that can be mounted, maybe under the toggles, maybe next to the tach.

Someone has figured out how to display text on the HU, but not in all modes... Go here for more information https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=35552
I have installed the Ice>Link Plus in my 04 MC, and don't appear to have any problem- yet.
There are a few things I need to confirm:
It looked like the iPod was placed in repeat mode on its own...I need to check that.
Also, accessing the Interface via CD6 seemed a little crappy, maybe it was my use of the FF action on the MFSW- I'll practice more
I do however, have a stupid question: Is there a way to get the iPod to play ALL songs (ala the official BMW?MINI adapter's CD6)? I understand that I can access the interface and change from the first 5 playlists, but sometimes, I want random play from my entire library. Can I set that up with the Plus?
Thanks, folks.

The only way to get it to play all songs in your library that I know if is to access the interface via CD6, select 'Access iPod UI' (when you select this option it will tell you to remove and reconnect the iPod) and then go to Music>Artists>All, or Music>Albums>All, or however you want to do it.
Press disc 3 (or 4, but I think it's 3) on the HU and it should bring up a menu. It will have the name of your iPod...mine says "Jared's iPod". I can then hold the fast-forward button and it'll start from the beginning...then I can hit the random button on the HU and it'll shuffle the entire iPod.

There was a patch that displayed the ID3 Tags on the Nav screen, however those who have gotten it to work don't like it. Seems to completely obstruct the Nav screen making it useless for navigation.
No text display...but who cares? It's only one line anyway and not that many characters long.
I love mine...pauses the iPod if you shut the car off or change to the radio...unpauses as soon as you change it back. iPod mini cradle looks nice and it's great to just drop it in there when I get in the car.

Please bare with me as my ignorance will be painfully obvious!
I have two important things - a MINI, and an iPod
. They currently interface via the aux input.
For the past year or so I darn near forgot that I had an iPod as I lent it to my dad. And, I just got it back as he found it while doing some cleaning
.
After getting up-to-speed on such "new" accessories, I very much would like to have something like this IceLink; that allows one to have some control through the MFSW.
I however noticed in the photos that iPods have changed somewhat in their design. They appear thinner, and buttons seem much different and nicer. Most notable is some type of connector at the bottom of the unit. I have the first 20 gig one, which I think I got about this time, 2 years ago. Can I even use my iPod with this IceLink unit, given that I have an older style unit?
If not, do I have any other options, or must I purchase a newer iPod?
I appreciate your time to help me!

Thanks blalor. After visiting their website, it appears that the classic iPod will have some limitations... I might contemplate getting a newer one... don't know. The MFSW, with aux port and playlists does the trick quite well actually. I can still toggle between input sources and control volume on the steering wheel, and so long as the playlist is truly what I want to hear... Maybe I just talked myself out of it
. I'll put the money into a radar detector...

ICELink and OEM Sirius
Has anyone done it? I caved and picked up the kit from Best Buy, mainly because the ID3 tag update is FINALLY out, and early reports say it works well.
Of course the guy at Best Buy was clueless about the kit surprise
, and didn't even know if it was the one that connected directly to the HU or if it was the one that used the CD Changer adapter...
Turns out it's the one that uses the CD Changer adapter, so... I've got the OEM Sirius also installed, and it appears to use the CD chander connector, or am I looking at the wrong thing?
It also says in the Dension book that a Satellite radio passthrough cable is required from BWM, and gives a BMW part number... Anybody know anything about this too?
