Navigation & Audio Mac compatable NAV systems

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Do you mean the kind where you plug some sort of GPS device into your iBook or Powerbook while you drive around, or just the kind where you use your computer (desktop or laptop) to upload maps to a portable unit. (In other words, the computer stays home.) Or something else?
I'm interested in this sort of thing, too. We have a neighbor who is into geo-caching and she's got my wife interested. I've always assumed you could use Virtual PC for uploading maps to the handheld, but I don't know if that's true or not. I hear the latest version of VPC is very good. (We have an earlier version - on my 500 MHz iBook, it's pretty slow. But for something like this, it would be tolerable, I think.)
I am talking mainly about one of the portable type set ups the uses either pocket pc or palm. I have also, very briefly, looked at the Garmin units but everything seems to require a stupid PC.
Most likely not something I will be buying in even the distant future but it is good to know these things anyway. :smile:
