Antenna issue

Quick question. Switched iver head unit and my fm stations are terrible. I bought the adapter for the antenna, but is there an amplified unit im missing. 06 r53. Thanks.

Did you ever figure it out? I upgraded my audio system, but barely get any FM stations... I believe I may have had some trouble with the factory unit, but the new one definitely has trouble picking up stations.

Was the power antenna wire on the new head unit connected? Even though a car doesn’t have a “power antenna”, they often have an antenna amplifier/module and the power antenna or remote turn on lead is needed for reception.

it may not have been. I noticed there were a few wires on the OEM harness that are not being used with the adapter harness. I figured they weren’t important. Guess I need to find a wire diagram and get it hooked in to the remote wire. Thanks!
