Getting access to door speakers w/o removing entire door panel?

2009 MCS, aftermarket head unit and speakers.

I've had JL Audio C2-650 components in my doors for probably 8 years now. One of the drivers in my driver-side door is blown and I want to find out if its the woofer or tweeter.

Can I get access to the speakers without removing the entire door panel? Can I just pop out the grills/covers? If so, how is this done without damaging any clips holding things together?

To access the tweeter, you don't need to remove the door-card. Just get a plastic pry tool and gently pop off the speaker grill.
To get access to the woofer, you'll have to remove the outer door panels.

Removing the entire door-card assembly is extremely easy and just requires a plastic pry tool and some gentle tugging. It's just held on by plastic clips.

PelicanParts has a very good write-up with lots of high-res pics.
