Pioneer AVIC-N1 and XMDirect

I have the AVIC installed and just bought the XMDirect tuner with Pioneer adpater. My question is, does the adapter connect to the hide away unit or the HU itself? I've looked at the diagrams of the HU and it doesn't seem as if there is a connection there to receive the XM connection so I'm thinking the connection is made on the hide away unit.

Also, I have the hide away unit installed in the cavity under the passenger seat. Assuming the XM adapter gets connected to the hide away unit is there a convenient connection to a constant 12v power line? I know I can run a wire to the fuse box but would rather just tap into a line running along the passenger side florr panel...if one is available.

Thanks for any/all input.

IT DOESN'T WORK!!!!

Installed it and nothing worked. Called Pioneer and they said the adapter doesn't work with the AVIC-N1.

Installed the Pioneer satellite radio receiver and everything works great!

Are you using the right parts? This is a quote from Pioneer's website:

Entertainment: Now, get there in style. Listen to AM/FM radio with the incredible performance of the built-in Supertuner® IIID™ tuner, or play your music CDs, custom-mixed MP3 CDs, or even optional XM Satellite Radio. Use the built-in DVD player to play a movie for your rear-seat passengers. With exclusive Tri-Zone functionality, you can play audio and navigation in the front seat and DVD Video in the back seat. The choices are yours, and they're all good. (Note: Front seat video viewing is not available while driving)

May have not be clear in my last post. My AVIC-N1 is XM Ready and does work, XM wise, with the Pioneer XM receiver and antenna.

The XMDirect receiver and Pioneer adapter doesn't work with the AVIC-N1.

Okay, that makes a lot more sense. How much was the entire setup up with the Pioneer XM receiver?
